I'm Already Gone *Private* - Leafwing12 - 12-18-2017

John hadn't really been having a good week. First he got fired from his job. Then he's been up late every night with Sherlock to help him solve his cases so he hadn't really slept all that much recently. And then his girlfriend dumped him. Normally, those things wouldn't have bothered him. But it was just one thing after the other this week and he hadn't managed to catch a break. It didn't help either that Sherlock was in one of those moods again. Being sarcastic and full of himself. Even worse then what he usually was. John knew the other couldn't help it, but it was annoying at times. And even more so when Sherlock got bad like this and started to act like he didn't even care about the victims.
John was currently out at a crime scene with Sherlock. He was straying back a ways, watching as his friend did his deductions. He was leaning against the side of the building they were by. He sighed, soon letting his eyes close. Maybe he could rest up a bit. He kne Sherlock would always call for him if he needed anything.

John let out a quiet sigh. He opened his eyes, moving over to Sherlock. He knealt down beside him. “What is it Sherlock?†John asked, looking over at him.

he pointed to the dead person. "what would cause a strangulation mark like that? it looks like a curd, but i've never seen a mark like that.. and it looks as if there are puncture holes along the neck.."

He blinked. He looked the marks over. Really? Something Sherlock doesn’t know? That’s new. “Judging by the way the small puncture wounds look, I’d say maybe...Something spiked. A dog collar perhaps?†He said.

he frowned. "but what collar is that big?" he asked. he seemed a little off his game that day, mostly because he had withdrawal twitches from having given in the other day and had a few cigarettes.

John blinked. He looked Sherlock over. Sure, he wasn’t a genius. And yes, Sherlock wasn’t exactly the easiest person out there to read. But John could tell there was something off about him. “...There are large dogs out there, Sherlock. Human necks tend to averag around 15-18 inches all around in width. Some dog collars are 26 inches in width. It wouldn’t be hard to stumble across one.†John siad

he blinked. "oh. right, right, mastiffs and things." he said and stood slowly. "alright. a dog collar then.. so that could be just about anyone in london. most likely male considering the amount of weight needed to cause such deep punctures with that sort of collar. i almost feel bad for this guy." he said. "it would have been slow and painful, surely.. unless he was sedated. "

John looked down, running a hand over his face. God...again with that endless deductions of his. “For once could you just not be a freak and just solve a case like a normal person?†John asked, glaring up at Sherlock. At first, he didn’t really even register what he had said. It hadn’t been until a few seconds after he said that until he finally realized what he had said. John froze and his eyes widened.
Greg, being nearby had heard what John said. Greg suddenly looked over at John. “The hell did you just say?†Greg asked, taking a step forward. He was more surprised then anything. He never thought that John would ever call Sherlock that.

sherlock seemed to stare at john, looking fairly shocked. internally, the little workers in his mind were starting to build up the walls that had been knocked down. he cleared his throat. "right, uh.. have the forensics team pack up the body." he muttered and quickly walked off the a cab parked near by to catch a ride home.
