caught up in a rush, screaming at the sun [p] - remmutt - 12-20-2017 [align=center][div style="font-family: times; font-size: 11px; text-align: justify; letter-spacing: 0px; width: 500px; line-height: 120%; color: black"] His back ached, his feet were sore, and his head was already killing him today. Usually it waited until he was home and curled up on the couch- where he could ignore it. But today it began as soon as he stepped out of his office building. It was a job he had landed recently, before being only in retail. His aches and pains had been so much worse then, so he really couldn't complain now. However the place was... A bit of a step back in the past, or that's what he thought anyway. AlphCo, a place entirely run by alphas. There were beta interns sure, but those guys would never actually work for the company. It was just good to have on their resume. And then there was the help. Poor omegas, barely making ends meet, constantly running around with coffee or food. It was nonstop harassment each day for them-- It was no wonder about half of them clung to him when they could, using him as a excuse to get away from any particular alpha. He didn't blame them, nor did he stop them. The alpha completely understood and if anything, it made him climb higher at his job. Besides his brother was an omega, and he'd grown up with the dude. He was happily mated too, with two kids. How his younger brother ended up mated before him he didn't know. Callaghan shook his head, clearing his thoughts as he continued his walk. So far just about everyone had bumped into him today. At least he wasn't angry, or upset that would really-- He stopped, his eyes gluing to a group of alphas who were slowly cornering a frail omega. The guy looked young, and not only that, but like he'd been living on the streets for the last two months. Poor kid didn't need a bunch of alphas pestering him, and it was then he began to start weighing his options. Cal could probably take him, there was about four of them but all of them were young-- and obviously stupid. But first, he wanted to see if he could convince him that this was his omega and get out of it scrape free. And then it hit him. The omega was pregnant. "Fuck." The word slid out of his mouth like he was in pain, and he shook his head. "You boys ever learn to not mess with another alphas omega?" He challenged as he came up to the group, eyeing the omega and praying the alphas didn't pick up on his lie. Re: caught up in a rush, screaming at the sun [p] - basorexia - 12-20-2017 [align=center][div style=" background-color: transparent; border: 0px solid black; width: 500px; min-height: 9px; font-family:; line-height: 110%; text-align: justify; color: black; padding: 10px"]Constant pain radiates down his lower back, festering mercilessly in that spot while the rest of his muscles ache. This soreness isn’t from the hardships of a jobâ€â€Âwork is unattainable while in his conditionâ€â€Âhe’s carrying a child. Pregnant omegas aren’t allowed to be employed due to their fragile state during gestation. There’s no point, anyway. Being a housewife with the sole duty to take care of the children is not an ideal future. His mate couldn’t go a day without reminding him of his endotype, using the word ‘omega’ in such a derogatory manner, putting down any ambitions he possibly could have. Leaving was the best option. It was the only option. Which could explain his current situation of being homeless. He’s a beggar, scum on the bottom of everyone’s shoe. By now, he’s grown accustom to the judgmental glares, the disgusted snarls and staring. It’s not everyday you see a pregnant omega on the street without clinging to their mate. His eyes travel toward a group of alphas approaching him, too enveloped in their conversation to notice him. One of them, a stocky male with a square jaw and muscular statureâ€â€Âlike the rest of themâ€â€Âhad a loose back pocket, his wallet hanging from it, taunting him. Maybe... Maybe he could steal a couple of dollars and return it back to him as if he dropped it? Yeah... That could work. Boy, was he wrong. The moment Emersyn was close enough, so close that he can pick the details of their faces, tune it into every word of their conversationâ€â€Âthey turned on him. Did they know of his devious plans? Their aggression gives him a start, stumbling backward with his upper lip slowly lifting to bare his sharp teeth. He can’t let them hurt his baby. His hands instinctively curl around his swollen belly, snarling cautiously. However, his body is trembling, terror glinting in his narrowed eyes. His back presses against a brick wall, his upper body curling into himself to make himself smaller, but they’re all coming from different angles. Was this it for him? A voice snatches his attention away from the alphas, powerful and deep which seems to distract the powerful beings from him. â€ÂÂâ€â€Ânot to mess with another alpha’s omega?†His eyebrows furrow, crinkling the space between them, his nose scrunching up. Excuse me? His mouth parts, preparing a protest that’ll disprove Callaghan’s statement, but he pauses. He’s trying to save him. He should play along. â€ÂÂI thought you’d never find me!†Emersyn cries out, slipping past the taller, confused males to cling on to ‘his’ alpha. Re: caught up in a rush, screaming at the sun [p] - remmutt - 12-21-2017 [align=center][div style="font-family: times; font-size: 11px; text-align: justify; letter-spacing: 0px; width: 500px; line-height: 120%; color: black"] The leader, a square-jawed prep, turned his furious gaze on Callahan. A snarl ripped the man's lips back as his words were spat viciously. "You're Omega? He hasn't the slightest scent on him! He's nothing but street scum!" "Yeah, he doesn't even smell claimed! How stupid do you think we are? Let us deal with him, you scurry on back to your 9-5 job, eh?" Another alpha chimed in, this one scrawny and frail. If it wasn't for the alpha scent pouring off of him he might mistake him for a beta. But suddenly an Omega was clinging to his arm, fear dripping off his frail figure. That, and the scent of pregnant Omega. His lungs expanded, filling with the flowery smell. Ease pulsed through him first, a sense of calm totally enveloping him. At this point he wasn't even sure how these other alphas were so bent on hurting him. Just a whiff and he was ready to tend to the omegas every need. Odd. And then, the ease was gone. An Omega was looking to him for help, clinging to him even, and rival alphas were approaching, lips drawn back and eyes flashing. Murmurs floated past his ears but the words were ignored. Each step closer had the man filling more and more with rage. How dare they come near? As one reached out his hand snapped outward, grasping an arm and wretching it backwards. A sick pop sounded in his ears before the deafening scream did. Two of the man's friends rushed to his side, holding the arm as gingerly as you would an Omega. The rest of the group just sneered, eyes glaring daggers at the two. "Just remember this, fuckers, we've got your scent. Expect a visit." Callahan hadn't even stayed long enough to hear the sentence. He didn't care. They had stopped coming at them, which meant the fight was over. Which meant time to go home. Except... There was still an Omega clung to his side, his short legs struggling to keep up with his stride. "Right. I guess you'll be coming back with me, huh? Don't worry. We'll get something figure out for you in my spare room. I'm sure there's places for pregnant omegas where you can stay long term." Well, he couldn't just leave him out on the street! No, instead he began to lead him back to his apartment. He'd have to climb two sets of stairs before he'd enter the hard wood floor home. It was actually quite spacious, the colors all matching from chocolate brown to earthy tones of green. He just hoped he had remembered to light a candle or something recently, so that the Omega wasn't hit face first with nothing but the scent of the alpha. It was bound to choke the poor guy. Re: caught up in a rush, screaming at the sun [p] - basorexia - 12-21-2017 [align=center][div style=" background-color: transparent; border: 0px solid black; width: 500px; min-height: 9px; font-family:; line-height: 110%; text-align: justify; color: black; padding: 10px"]A whine rises in his throat at the hostility in the larger male’s voice, pressing into his savior as his earthy scent envelops him, stirring the instinct to seek an alpha for protection. Big, round eyes stare up at Callahan, his grip tightening on to his bicepâ€â€Âin which, he must say is defined. He fixates his watering gaze to the advancing alphas, shifting slightly behind ‘his mate’ but the once calming aroma coming from Callahan has turned bitter, he relaxes. Like lightning, his hand flashes out to grip one of their arms and break it in one flick of his wrist. His body flinches automatically, ducking his head low at the screech following the sickening crack of bone. He didn’t have time to process much else, considering he was yanked backward and forced into a pace he’s struggling to keep up with. He pants heavily, his free hand pressing to his belly as it begins to ache with every breath. His face scrunches up, confusion twisting on to his expression as he offers him to stay in his spare room. He could be just like all the other alphas that try to harm him or snatch him off the streets to use him for their own dirty needs. Though, something about this certain man instills a sense of security within him. For the first time in his life... He’s safe. Nothing can harm him, and he won’t ever have to worry about surviving but he’d begin living. Emersyn takes a moment to catch his breath once they reach stairs, heaving himself up to follow the long-legged man, a soft wheeze crackling in his chest. His health isn’t in ideal conditionâ€â€Âit’s expected from months of barely eating. His cheeks are sunken, looking hollowed with his jawline sharper and his collar bones protruding from his pale skin. He’s quite sickly. As he makes it to the top of the two stories, he trudges behind Callahan into his home, and a strong scent of the alpha bombarding him. He lets out a cough, leaning against the threshold to balance himself, eyes narrowing to clear his blurry vision. â€ÂÂI-I... Giveâ€â€Âgive me a minute..†he pants, his legs trembling beneath him. Exhausted, he inhales a deep breath before his eyes adjust to look around. It’s... Homely. Though, his eyebrows furrow and he glares light brown daggers at him. He rushes toward him, aiming to punch him on his arm with not much force behind it due to his lack of muscle mass. â€ÂÂYou could’ve slowed down, asshole!†he hisses through his teeth, his hands clenching into fists. He swallows thickly, stalking past him while pinching his nose to block the heavy aroma of the male. It’s so thick, he’s practically drowning in it. It’s like a warm blanket wrapping him up in feelings of safety, but he refuses to bask in it. He stops after he puts distance between them, staring at the hardwood floors and huffing. â€ÂÂWhere’s... The spare room?†Re: caught up in a rush, screaming at the sun [p] - remmutt - 12-21-2017 [align=center][div style="font-family: times; font-size: 11px; text-align: justify; letter-spacing: 0px; width: 500px; line-height: 120%; color: black"] Now that he had time to simply take a step back and look at the omega, he paused. He looked about his own age, which was a bad thing. Omegas were hardly ever supposed to show signs of age, they almost always were a perfect picture of health. Soft bodies, warm faces, full cheeks. This omega was sunken, abuse and violence showing on his skin. His stomach was hardly a bump, you could barely see that he was pregnant. Hell, you could hardly smell it under all of that grime. But for whatever reason, the alpha wasn't wrinkling his nose or scrunching up his face in disgust. Instead he kept the same fond expression, even when the younger male suddenly began attacking him- the hits feeling like someone was whacking him with a balloon. "I apologize. Those alphas had our scent though, I didn't want to give them time to follow us. Though, if they did, we would be fine." Callahan pulled away from the omega then, letting his hands drop from the rhythm they had been pounding on his chest. Slowly he made his way into the kitchen, scouring his mind for recipes of what his brother had eaten during his early months. "Afraid the room will have to wait, I'm gonna make something for you to eat-- you look like you could use a meal. You want something to snack on in the mean time? Or even a drink? Bet that pup of yours could really use some milk." He nodded his head towards the fridge as he began to raid his own pantry, pulling out ingredients after ingredients. Callahan would have to start watching what he was going to be eating because these meals would be for the omega to gain weight. "If you want something, once you're done, you should go clean up. It'll help you settle down, give you some time to relax. My brother keeps spare clothes here, I'm sure he won't mind if you borrow them. The bathroom is down the hall to the left-- it connects to the spare bedroom with the clothes." The alpha was waving him away, hoping that in doing so he would decide what he wanted to do and go off and do it. Sitting around filled with worry wasn't going to be any good for him. "Oh, and please, help yourself to whatever. I know shit on the streets is rough, it isn't right for a omega-- especially not one expecting. So, whatever you see, just take it okay?" Re: caught up in a rush, screaming at the sun [p] - basorexia - 12-21-2017 [align=center][div style=" background-color: transparent; border: 0px solid black; width: 500px; min-height: 9px; font-family:; line-height: 110%; text-align: justify; color: black; padding: 10px"]He swallows as he feels the alpha’s gaze scrutinize him, shifting uncomfortably, and refusing to look him in the eyes. His pregnancy is easily hidden under the baggy clothes that hang loosely on his thin frame, scent cloaked beneath coats of dirt and grime. In a way, it helped him make it through the few months he’d been on the streets. That didn’t ease his fear, however, his baby is in danger because of his lack of fat and poor diet. But, the shifts he feels every now and again confirms that his pup is still alive and well. Its a fighterâ€â€Âjust like him. Lips twitch into a ghost of a smile, though it vanishes as quickly as it appears, flickering his honey-colored eyes up to finally examine his face. Oh... He’s quite handsome. Nothing he wouldn’t expect from your average alpha. Emersyn blinks, shaking the intrusive thoughts from his mind, and scoffs softly. He follows behind Callahan like a lost puppy, glancing around cautiously at the decorations and furniture. His face lights up at the mention of food, interest piqued and his mouth immediately begins to fill with saliva. â€ÂÂYesâ€â€ÂYes, please,†he says quickly, a bit too eagerly. He approaches the bar area to watch the other prepare a meal for him, staring at the ingredients he takes out, almost drooling. He swallows, bobbing his head as he turns to exit the kitchen to follow his directions. Down the hall to the left. Got it. A shower. God, that sounds like a blessing. He can’t remember the last time he had a decent bath or thoroughly cleaned himself. His long hair is matted and carries a darker tint due to the grime, giving off a disgusting smell. He isn’t much to look at and he certainly isn’t something to be within a close vicinity to. He turns to the left to enter the bathroom, immediately stripping himself of his dirty clothes as soon as he closed the door. He doesn’t waste time to step into the shower, blankly staring at the knobs and shower head. How the fuck does he work this thing? It takes a few moments of adjusting the knobs, playing with them a little until they release the right temperature of water he wants; not too hot, and not too cold. The filth washes off his body, turning the water into an dark brown hue, sludge and muck clumping to the porcelain floor. Finally, parts of his pale skin is revealed, soap and water doing the trick of ridding him of what was once like a tattoo on his flesh. A solid hour passes, turning off the water and stepping out from the shower feeling better than he ever has. Emersyn dries his now light blonde hair, walking right into the spare room to scour the closet for clothes his size. They were all... A bit too large, but hopefully that could change within a few weeks. He takes a simple blue t-shirt along with sweatpants, tying the string on the waistband to so they could stay up on his hips. Content, he hesitantly crawls into the bed to curl up into the blankets and sheets, deeply inhaling into the fresh linen. His eyelids, heavy and already weighing down, begin to close, relaxing to the feel of his clean skin against clean sheets. He’s starting to fall asleep... Re: caught up in a rush, screaming at the sun [p] - remmutt - 12-21-2017 [align=center][div style="font-family: times; font-size: 11px; text-align: justify; letter-spacing: 0px; width: 500px; line-height: 120%; color: black"] After the patter of footsteps disappear down the hall, he really sets to work on the meal. He's making salmon, breaded with crumbs and nuts to help pack on that fat. On the side is berries, a mixture of them to help give that added flavor. And of course some veggies. Each course on the omegas plate is fairly small, knowing that too large a helping could make him sick. The alphas plate doesn't hold too much more, as an alpha he eats several meals a day, none of them too large, to sustain his body. Carefully the man picks up the two plates and begins descending down the hall. When he doesn't hear the shower running or the rustling of clothes being put on he begins to knock. There isn't a response and suddenly his worry piques and he pushes the door open. Snuggled into the bed lays an Omega, appearing ten times smaller due to the queen sized bed. Oh boy. "Omega." He whispers, the notion suddenly striking him that he doesn't know the man's name. He doesn't get too close, though he yearns to reach out and touch the now clean Omega. Blond wet locks curl down his elegant face, cheeks red from the warm shower- but the rest of him pale. He looks angelic, heavenly even. It's odd how just having an Omega in your home brings life to a place. It was always warmer with his brother around, but he was mostly annoying. "I'm afraid you have to eat before you sleep." Callahan whispers, hoping to just barely wake him without terrifying him. Slowly he approaches and sets the plate down on the night stand, along with a cup of water. He's filled with a dire need to feed the Omega everything in his home. He wishes he could, right now. But that's something for the morning. Re: caught up in a rush, screaming at the sun [p] - basorexia - 12-21-2017 [align=center][div style=" background-color: transparent; border: 0px solid black; width: 500px; min-height: 9px; font-family:; line-height: 110%; text-align: justify; color: black; padding: 10px"]Emersyn stirs, rolling onto his side as his eyes crack open to look at the alpha. He shifts to sit up a little, rubbing at his eye and parting his jaws in a yawn before taking a look down at the plates settled on the nightstand. That’s... For him. He reaches over to grab his plate, using the fork to begin shoveling food into his mouth. The salty mix of the salmon along with the sweetness of the berries is enough to make him cry, but he manages to hold them back. â€ÂÂMy name is Emersyn. I go by Emery,†he murmurs, swallowing and shoving another spoonful into his mouth. His stomach gurgles with need, welcoming the food that maneuvers to his belly. He paces himself, ensuring that he doesn’t put in more food that he can handle. He curls a lock of his shoulder-length hair behind his hair, looking to the alpha and searching his face. â€ÂÂWhy are you being so nice to me?†he asks at last, eyebrows furrowing. [ blegh sorry for the short post :^(( ] Re: caught up in a rush, screaming at the sun [p] - remmutt - 12-21-2017 [align=center][div style="font-family: times; font-size: 11px; text-align: justify; letter-spacing: 0px; width: 500px; line-height: 120%; color: black"] The alpha blinks once a name is given to him, watching as the younger takes his plate and begins shoveling things into his mouth. Yes, he's glad he proportioned it now. The Omega might have just eaten everything on that plate without a second thought. Callahan takes another step back just to lean against the wall and begin piling his own food in his mouth. "Mines Callahan. Though, I guess some people have called me Cal." The question he's asked makes him stop and think. Why has he taken this Omega in, as if he's his own, and being so nice? The only thing he can come up with is that he's a decent human being. He never understood the need to be little omegas, or treat them like shit. If anything they deserved the opposite. Lots of attention and doting on. And not because they needed it, but because it felt right. So, with that he gives a little chuckle. "I think I'm just a decent human being. But, I was raised by my Omega mother. And I grew up with an Omega brother. So I saw a lot of the shit they went through up close, and typically ended up protecting them once I could. " Callahan drops to the floor then, folding his legs with a giant smile on his face. Oh dear, he's getting ready to tell a story. "One time, I was about ten years old and we were at the supermarket. We were all minding our business, right? My mother picks up a package of cereal and it's like... Alpha brand, right? This fucker comes up to us, starts getting in her face and screaming that omegas shouldn't even be allowed to touch shit that isn't theirs. My brothers crying, and I remember being on the verge of it too, afraid of what this man could do. And then... He grabs my mother's arm okay? I can see how tight his hold is, how his fingers are digging in and drawing blood. And it just... Pisses me off. The next thing I know I'm on the guy, mouthful of blood because I've ripped off his ear. And that's literally how I presented as an alpha. It just... Shocks me so much that alphas can treat omegas so badly. We're not too different, yanno?... Oh god, sorry, that went on forever and just ended with me ripping off a guys ear... Ahh. If you don't mind me asking, how did you end up on the streets?" [DONT HATE ME FOR ALL THAT DIALOGUE PLS] Re: caught up in a rush, screaming at the sun [p] - basorexia - 12-21-2017 [align=center][div style=" background-color: transparent; border: 0px solid black; width: 500px; min-height: 9px; font-family:; line-height: 110%; text-align: justify; color: black; padding: 10px"]He’s certainly right about that. He doesn’t care what he’s putting into his mouth, as long as it’s food and it’ll give his baby some nutrients. After a few more bites, the plate is empty and he takes the glass of water to sip idly. ”Mine’s Callahan.” That... Suits him, he supposes. Cal. Emersyn’s eyebrow raises at the response, setting down the glass on the nightstand as he leans toward him. ”That’s... Different.” he mumbles, lifting his legs up to press against his chest, setting his chin on his knee. This man is so different than all the alphas he’s encountered. The majority were condescending, sexist, and just overall assholes. The nature of an Omega is to attach themselves to a strong mate—which in this case is an alpha. Obviously, he gave in to his nature and got himself knocked up by an alpha. Lucky him. Confused, he tilts his head to the side as he settles to the floor with a creepy grin. He tenses a little, pressing his back to the headboard while eyeing Callahan. A story unfolds to him, pulling him in and interesting him enough to keep listening and not tune him out. His mother was an omega... He have half expected she were to be a beta or something. ”I’ve ripped off his ear.” Fuck. His skin prickles with goosebumps rising, a shiver running down his spine. The aggression alphas display is so powerful and terrifying. He can’t help the smile twitching at the apology coming from Callahan, snorting softly and rolling his eyes. ”Let’s just say I wasn’t cut out for being an omega, alright?” [MUCH DIALOGUE. SO LONG. WOW] |
