anxiety, suppresion - private - peridot. - 02-16-2018
/gghjfh I'm very sad and tired so I'm not gonna do like an actual overview thing for myself but basically our ages are like 19 and 20
It had been.... a very long time since Newt had ever talked to or interacted with Salem. It wasn't his choice - rather, his Mother had found out about his lying and had swiftly cut off all contact between them. Newt's life since then had been... rough. His anxiety and depression had gotten worse, and while he had succesfully managed to limp his way through high school and into college, it didn't mean he was exactly healthy. He'd lost his healthy eating habits ages ago, and was basically staying awake all night with only occasional passing out when he had to. That's why Robyn had suggested that, for the summer, they go on a road trip. So it was Robyn, Gabe, Joseph, and Newt, all packed into a car going cross country. And at the moment, they were heading towards South Carolina, so Newt wasn't exactly having a good time. He felt sick and sad, and was leaning against the door of the car, with Gabe looking on with concern. Suddenly, Gabe's eyes lit up, and he yelped at Joseph, who was driving, "Babe! Stop! We're gonna visit Barnes and Noble!" Newt seemed to perk up at this, and he made a soft noise as the car suddenly pulled into the parking lot and he was dragged out of the car by the arm by Gabe. As they walked around, Gabe said cheerfully, trying to make his brother happy, "I'll let you buy whatever the fuck you want, Newt." Newt then said, raising an eyebrow as he was dragged along, "You know I get sick reading books in the car."
I assume you have Barnes and Noble at SC??

salem had felt as though it was their fault newt had gotten found out, and with them hardly ever leaving to house, it was pure luck that she had been forced to go out and do something with aspen. aspen had told salem to drive to barns and novel, so that's where they were. while aspen was getting them coffee, salem was looking through the sci-fi and fantasy books, singing an old taylor swift song to themselves. their voice hasn't changed much, so it wouldn't be surprising if newt recognised it. the only thing that really changed was their hair, which was now different shades of green, and kept mostly slicked back. they fixed their neon green jacket, sweat pants dragging across the carpet as she moved to grab a interesting looking book with a green dragon on the front.

Newt was looking through the books slowly, seeming fairly tired, when he heard the singing. He frowned and mumbled to himself, picking up a 40k book for himself, "That song sucks.." Unlike Salem, his voice had changed quite a bit. Since they had been able to talk on the phone, he had gotten his top surgery and started hormones, so his voice was definitely different. It wasn't super deep, but definitely different. Gabe, meanwhile, seemed to perk up as he saw the book Salem was holding, and he grabbed Newt by the arm, saying loudly, "Newt! That's the book series I was telling you about!"

salem blinked. "well, if you don't like the song.." she chuckled softly and blinked. "oh. here, you can have the book if you want!" she said, holding out the book and jumping when aspen came up behind her. "here you go. sugar free vanilla meisto!" she said and salem snapped something in german. "don't sneak up on my, brat!"

Newt seemed to pale softly when Salem spoke, seeming surprised. He hadn't meant for her to hear him bashing on the song. He frowned and moved a bit behind Gabe, feeling bad. Gabe, meanwhile, took the book and grinned, saying happily, "Thank you! I was looking for this series. I'm Gabe, and this is Newt. Sorry we didn't.. warn you about the person sneaking up on you."

she blinked. "that's real funny. i used to have a friend name newt.. he had a brother named Gabe who had a boyfriend named.. joseph. not james i don't think. small world, huh?" she said with a smile.

Newt blinked at Salem for a moment before he felt his legs get a little weak, and he bolted off towards the bathroom, extremely pale. Gabe blinked in confusion, and he watched the other male bolt off before saying quietly, looking at Salem with slightly wide eyes, "Danny..?"

Gabe frowned and said, seeming caught off guard and concerned, "Uhm... well, I have to go check on him. You can.. uh.. also? Maybe?" He then rushed off towards the bathroom, where Newt had gone. He winced as soon as he heard the sounds of aggressive stressed vomiting.

she hesitated and frowned. "i.. since i'm genderfluid i guess i guess it's allowed.." they mumbled and moved to the bathroom, frowning. "uh.. you really weren't kidding about the vomit thing.."
