is there a reason? hmm
probably the accent, i just,, a southern drawl is like nails on a chalkboard for me unfortunately
+ texans always get stereotyped to have the fuckin accent and love country and yEE HAW and i just HATe that so much gdi
plus country is always like. about sADNESS and i'm not into that
and theres mostly only guitar too, i'm more into Cool instuments that you dont hear v often and like...interesting tunes but you dont?? get that a lot in country? its the same ol boring guitar and idk i just can't vibe with it
i know there's bands that go out of that stereotype but like its MOST of it and just. ew i cant stand it rip

not from texas, but i come from an area where washingtonians thing they're reaaaal country boys

i think bo burnham summed up my thoughts on the entire country music thing perfectly? the old stuff is great (i dont listen to it but i'd enjoy it more than current stuff because it has heart), but everything new sticks to an algorithm: girls, trucks, summer, beer, friday nights, working hard (even though a lot of these stars haven't experienced the farming life), banjo twang

[align=center][div style="width: 400px; text-align: justify; font-size: 12px; line-height: 13px;"]also not from texas, but here in kentucky it’s. everywhere,, and i’m fine with it but it’s not something i usually listen to? my mom also never puts on any music except for worship so. every other genre of song is my guilty pleasure lmao. and my dad’s side of the family is pretty much all country and even they hardly listen to it from what i’ve heard.

i dunno if i count as a Real Southerner because it's florida but i love country music. i literally grew up on a farm and i thought every one of those songs was about my life tbh

[align=center][div style="background=transparent; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=; width: 500px; font-size: 11px; line-height: 125%; text-align:justify;"]Given how I can like songs from every single genre & likewise hate songs from every single genre, there are some country songs that I enjoy and some that I don't enjoy. So for me, it's just like every other genre of music? It's not particularly loved, nor is it particularly hated.
