/triggers for alcohol probably, death, violence, mentions of past abuse and r*pe (briefly, or maybe none at all, just one of the characters has a history with it)

murphy has been doing.. well. since emori died about two years ago, he was finally starting to get back into the “dating†scene. of course, he wasn’t great at it, really, but at least he was trying. he had heard that commander roan (basically just high king) was looking for someone to rule by his side, find a queen or king.. while it was a very nice offer, it wasn’t like he had a chance (but he did, bc roan is gonna claim him lmao).
he had spent the last hour roaming the market when he heard clark say his name. he looked over his shoulder. “yeah?†he asked. clark looked over him. “roan wants to see you. wouldn’t say why.†she said and murphy pauses. town wanted to see him? he had talked to the male a few times recently, but it’s not like they were good friends. he moved to the massive tower in the middle of polis and moved into the manual elevator, which brought him to the top.
he looked at roan from where he sat in his throne, speaking quietly with his ear chief and tilted his head. “you wanted t see me?â€Â
/basically, it’s starting off with roan literally claiming murphy.

Roan had been deep in thought when Murphy entered the room. He glanced up at him. “Hello Murphy.†He greeted, turning to face him. He looked him over. “It’s come to my attention that I need someone to help me rule by my side and soon.†He said. He glanced him over. “After much consideration, I feel like you are the most viable candidate for the position.†He saud.

he pause, seeming unable to speak for a solid minute. “please tell me i am not your first choice.†he said, his cheeks having turned a bright pink. “i’m literally the least qualified person.. i mean.. clark would be better than me- hell, actual satan would be better.†he said na bit nervously.

he blinked. “also.. pretty sure clark is lesbian but.. i’m not quiet sure.†he said awkwardly and thought a moment. “i mean, she was screwing the commander before you so..†he mumbled and looked down. “is his a serious offer?†he asked cautiously. “if i said no, who would your next option be?â€Â

he held out a hand. “now, hang on a second! never said no.†ge said hesitated. “won’t the other grounders not like that skaikru is going to be on the throne..?†he mumbled, looking past him at the balcony, and the muffled noise from the market down below.
