Hello and welcome to my classroom. I'm here to teach you all my lovely language, American Sign Language. As a Deaf person, it is important to me to educate those who want to learn how to effectively communicate with the hard of hearing community. So, here I am! I'll take any suggestions for different little lessons, and I'll post them all here and probably in another thread so people can look back on th without all the extra posts between them. Things like grammar, signs for specific words, or phrases, about the culture, or really any kind of questions you may have. I'll start with an easy one; "I love you"
To sign I love you, you only have to make one sign. Using your dominant (or available) hand, you extend your pointer, thumb and pinky but fold in your middle and ring fingers. This is similar to the "rock on" symbol that people make. This is the sign used because it combines three asl letters; the I - an extended pinky, the L - an L with your pointer and thumb, and a y - an extended thin and pinky.

Ahh thanks guys! I'll probably make a lesson like every day, but I can do more of you guys have specific questions for me! And I'm really open to just about anything about the d/Deaf community, don't think you're gonna intrude too much or whatever c:

Yeah, it's pretty cool! I'm honestly now sure where the rock on symbol comes from but they're probably not related lol

maybe how to sign "i'm sorry" or "when are you coming back?"
