PLOT W NOCTIS - noctis - 09-05-2017

my patience for writing his joining thread gave out lmao so here we go

if you'd like a thread with noctis here, let me know. some stuff about him under the spoiler cos i'm too lazy for tags or biographys

[spoiler=noctis]his full name is noctis lucis caelum. he's 10 months old, and he's a transmale.

he was a prince, but he isn't anymore so that's not that important. he's a skinny black cat with soft fur, long legs and big ears. he has a nasty scar doing down his back. his eyes are blue. the full ref is here

and this is stuff from my stint rping noctis on tumblr. context isn't important here, since it's a different universe. o/

personality notes
the crown prince of lucis, the chosen king of kings; the future king who rejects his inevitable accession to the throne: noctis is a young man with genuine concern for not only those living within his kingdom but all of those who live within the realm of eos. he is fiercely loyal to those who support lucis, not only him and his brothers. they are his responsibility, in a way, but perhaps he thrust that responsibility onto himself.

he is described to be a regal heir with heart to bare; a kind, compassionate young man who takes on the responsibilities of others. noctis cares a lot about people, even if the people have little directly to do with him and his own issues. without factoring in his royal blood, noctis is a young man grappling with terrifying societal norms. attributed to his secluded life in insomnia, noctis is indeed snotty and bratty, your average spoiled, sheltered prince. he has issues assimilating with modern society at times as well. he hides all of this pretty shy behavior with a conscious effort to be considered ‘cool’ and ‘aloof’. also, he’s pretty emotionally congested. he has issues expressing certain things, and he’ll bottle those things up.

noctis is painfully self-aware of who he is and what his role as their prince means to many. although he is strong, there is no doubt about this, he often overestimates his strength and acts rashly when his citizens - and his friends, his family - are on the line. he feels as if it is his duty to protect them - especially now. they need him now, and he is so, so afraid of failing them. failing his father. failing luna. failing his friends. he’s afraid of failure, of letting people down. his friends, those whom he considers family, they’re perhaps the most important people to him. he’d hate to let them down, or to lose them in any way.

he has known for a long time that he is the chosen king — o’ king of kings, who is destined to rid the scourge from our star. responsibility thrust upon him at a young age, and he is rightfully insecure about it. he carries the weight of the world on his shoulders, and it will inevitably crush him under it’s weight; far too heavy for a child like him. he never asked for this, never asked for people to throw their lives on the line for him. he never asked to be king, never asked to see his father whither away before his eyes, never asked for the crown.

and frankly? he doesn’t want it, not really, but he was born into this life. he cannot run from any of this, for there is nowhere to run to. despite his fears and his reservations, he knows, understands, and accepts that one day, he will be king, whether he’s ready for the crown or not.

health stuff
c-ptsd, depression, both properly diagnosed and medicated.

previous injury to his spine and leg; he does well now, but too much strenuous activity results in pain and limping.

anyways, perhaps these two can have a super emo chat about how they feel about destiny and their parents, and stuff?? sky, i'm thinking, is gonna be mistakenly mad at their parents for "abandoning them" (in reality they got kidnapped and brought to bb universe).

perhaps sky can confront noctis about wanting to run away from responsibility, and noctis can tell them to have more faith in people?? or smthn

ANYWAY I FEEL LIKE I MOSTLY TALKED ABOUT THEIR PERSONALITIES RATHER THAN PLOTTED ANYTHING!?!!? lmk if you have any ideas about how to have the above come out if you want, the only thing i can think of is a "who are you" "oh i'm skykit" thread where they get to know each other. then they could talk about their pasts? sky is pretty curious and wants to see all the new people i think

@ skykit: mmmm noctis won't be talking about his past to anyone for a long while! he's cagey about his emotions and everything that bugs him. i'd love for them to meet, but they'll have to get close before noct divulges anything - and even then, sky'd have to ask about it x: he's usually sleeping away the day since he can't move very well due to previous injuries to his spine x_x soo.... there's that!

ooh, i don't know how i overlooked that! i apologize;;
sky is a pretty curious guy so i can imagine them innocently asking noctis why they lay around most of the time or maybe even pestering him about why his injuries happened. perhaps we could go somewhere with that? :O
