— mateo made his way a bit towards the front of the growing crowd, crossing his arms over his chest expectantly. it felt like a lot had gone on around northstar, with the new goats and a few other newcomers.. all the while, mateo's life felt like it was almost at a standstill. maybe these next coming weeks would bring a change of pace. he shifted his weight onto one foot and watched green expectantly.

Meetings. She was familiar with family meetings, and she knew her father had meetings with his... associates, ones that her sister often got to attend. She was never invited to the latter, though she found it hard to avoid the former. Usually she could just hug the wall and stay quiet, unless something warranted her speaking up, but this seemed... different. Most people were standing around, looking at Green, waiting. Well, he was the leader, so maybe that made sense.

She's usually very guarded and doesn't let people in very easily and prefers taking relationships slowly. It can't be said whether she's particularly honest or dishonest, or loyal or disloyal - there are certain topics she will not speak of and will lie about though she usually prefers to be candid, and while not inherently disloyal she has betrayed some that were close to her. She is a very stubborn and bullheaded individual and once she's convinced of something there is no way to convince her otherwise. Typically Amy is a woman of logic more than emotion and keeps said emotions on a tight leash (though she feels her emotions very strongly), she is still dictated by a strong sense of what's right and wrong and does her best to stay in the right rather than the wrong and feels a deep sense of shame whenever she hurts someone - which she (to her own horror) is indeed capable of doing. She tries to be pacifistic but when forced to violence or thinks it's the right thing to do or when her temper is tried too much, she will lash out, often regretting it later on.

    ❝ All right, all right - if everybody is ready, then lets get this started. ❞ Green clasped his hands together, a gentle smile playing on his lips. ❝ First of all, a very warm welcome to Addy, Lucerne, Amy and Winifred. I hope you guys feel settled here in Northstar, or at least are beginning to feel settled. ❞ He nodded his head in greeting before he continued.

❝ Now, we've had a crazy past few weeks. Firstly, I'd like to announce that we now have an alliance formed with Los Santos, so do treat them with the utmost respect. They're good people and we've established a good deal with them. ❞ He explained. It wasn't difficult to get on well with their leader, Sel. After all, his best friend was her boyfriend or... whatever they were.

❝ In addition, I'd like to announce the arrival of our new herd of goats. They'll be helpful for producing milk and whatnot, and they're located in the newly built barn. I'd be grateful for any volunteers to clean the barn out weekly, as well as somebody to feed them daily. ❞ After all, a well-kept herd meant higher yield.

❝ Next thing I'd like to discuss is the refurbishment of one of our buildings in the town center. Once completed, it will become Northstar's first clinic, St. Peters. Again, I'd like for people to help out in making this a reality as many hands make light work. A clinic here in Northstar will be fantastic in order to help sick and injured people far and wide. ❞

He cleared his throat. On that note- ❝ With that being said, I'd like to thank our apothecary, Mick, and Lucerne for helping Puck when he injured himself, and thank you to Amy for being the first on the scene. Lucerne, I'd like to promote you to apothecary, and Amy, I'd like to see you promoted to Page. Mateo, for your hard work in creating the barn for the goats, I'd like you to step up as Page as well. ❞

❝ I am searching for new Mercenaries, Emissaries and Apothecaries, by the way, so if you're interested in any of these roles then look out for the new tasks that I will be setting on Monday; I have some related jobs that need to be done, so it'll be your chance to shine. ❞ Green crossed his arms across his chest casually, pursing his lips.

She didn't expect her name to be on the leader's lips, and blinked in surprise when he welcomed her along with three others. "Thanks." She mumbled, ducking her head.

He was quick to move on, mentioning an alliance with Los Santos... okay, the name meant nothing to her, but she figured that it would be good for the group. He mentioned the goats, asked for volunteers to help care for them, which she stayed quiet for. She'd help if that's what it took, but she wouldn't jump to. Then he mentioned the clinic... Hearing him say the name she'd suggested out loud in a meeting made it seem all too real. They were really were going with St. Peters for the clinic's name, just like that. She didn't know if it would ever not surprise her.

Then he went on to thank Mick and Lucerne for helping Puck, and her for being the first on the scene. If the welcome had startled her, this did even more... All she did was get there first and call for help that surely would have been there soon anyway. She ducked her head even more, almost wishing she hadn't tied her hair back so that it would fall all around her head and cover her.

Then, Lucerne was promoted to Apothecary. Okay, that made sense... wait, what? No, she must have misheard. He'd said her name again, her name and... Page, whatever that meant. A promotion? There had to be some mistake. Mateo was promoted too, and that made more sense, but she could scarcely comprehend it. Everything else he said, about ranks and tasks and Christmas, didn't even register. White noise in the back of her mind. He concluded with a question about Secret Santa, and her brilliant timing had her asking "me?" just a second later. Fuck. "What's a Page?"

— there was quite a bit of news, this time. mateo almost couldn't believe how much was being done these last couple weeks. eyes wandered around the group of people gathered there, offering a few smiles towards people. he and amy were promoted, as well as lucerne. he sent a grateful smile green's way, quietly thanking him for the position. words couldn't explain how glad he was to be promoted.

and then it was on to business about christmas festivities. decorating a tree in the plaza, and then asking around for people who wanted to do secret santa. "me?" eyes wandered over towards amy. "what's a page?" he hummed. "if you show promise as a page, you'll get promoted to some of the higher positions. think of it as a stepping stone position," he murmured to her, waiting before turning his gaze back over towards mateo.

"i'd be in for a secret santa."

addy didn't look as enthused to do secret santa or any gift exchange this year. his gaze purposefully wandered anywhere but towards the leader at the mention of secret santa.

mickey seemed on the fence about whether or not to do it. he stayed quiet while others spoke up that they'd be interested.

She'd spent some time here two years ago, but it hadn't been enough to become intimate with how the ranks worked, so she had little understanding of how the ranks worked.
