He could handle it all, though, and gladly so. With Midas and Ginnie being the first to enter the warehouse, Green soon followed suit, slowing to a stop briefly before looking over his shoulder to the small figure following behind him. ❝ Come help me put chairs out for everyone. ❞ He offered a reassuring smile, Arlo quietly blinking up at Green before the both of them began to remove stacked chairs from one another, placing them in neat rows for the start of today’s meeting.

Several minutes later, Arlo found himself taking a seat at the front, Green leaning against the wall nearby with his arms folded comfortably across his chest. Something about having to look out for the boy gave Green a new lease of life. Not only was he the Guardian of Northstar, but he also often felt like the Guardian of Arlo, too. He lifted his head upon seeing the first person walk in for today’s meeting, cracking a soft close lipped smile their way.

— the more recent events felt like a blur. only a few weeks ago it felt mick had managed to slip into a comfortable routine. with more responsibility on his plate - mostly concerning his personal life more than anything - he felt he had to get used to a different rhythm altogether again.

most of it was touch-and-go with arlo. there was a lot that could change on a whim's notice; whether arlo wanted to stay in their home or go elsewhere, whether he appreciated having two adults looking out for him or if he would rather strive for independence instead. if mickey decided to be honest, there still was a bit of a rift between him and the kid - he didn't warm up to people as quickly as he wished he could, and kids weren't an exception - but it felt like that gap was ever-closing. and arlo was slowly starting to become part of the routine, a moment if mick's life even if it could be fleeting. he'd take it as it was.

as he walked into the meeting, he nodded his head towards green before taking a seat up near the front next to arlo.

Firstly, as many have already noticed, there is a new face here today. ❞ His gaze shifted over towards Arlo, the younger boy coyly lowering his gaze in response. ❝ I’d like for you all to meet Arlo. He’s going to be staying with me and Mickey for a little bit. ❞ Arlo lifted his gaze again to look at Green, Green doing little more than crack him a reassuring closed lip smile before glancing away again.

❝ In other news, for all of his commitment and hard work around Northstar, I think it is only right to appoint Mickey as Northstar’s Prodigy. I hope you can accept the responsibility and work alongside me, hey? ❞ His eyes landed on Mick, the corner of his lip twitching with the most heartfelt feeling of pride as he looked towards his partner. And finally, he said, ❝ Otherwise, that’s it for today. ❞
