[align=center][div style="width: 400px; text-align: justify; font-size: 12px; font-family: times new roman; letter-spacing: .6px; color: #494949;"]the afternoon sun was high in the sky, shining down on everything in view, including anya. she had spent most of her time that day on her laying on the beach soaking in the sun and swimming in the water. she went and dove into the water one last time, pushing her hair back out of her face when she reached the surface. she stayed shoulder deep in the waves for a few moments, taking in the peace around her, brown eyes looking around at the people lingering on the beach. eventually, she made her way back out to where her towel was waiting for her. once she reached it, she picked up her towel and wiped herself dry a few times, not fully drying herself, but she didn't care much. she pulled her shorts up over her bikini bottoms before gathering her things and walking over to the house on the beach that she decided to reside in.

it was a cute little place with a nice view, the downside only being the dull paint that was severely chipping everywhere. with how times were, it seemed almost silly to care about the exterior of a house, but anya found herself beginning to grow more and more urged to paint it and spruce the place up a bit. it took some research and asking around, but eventually she found someone who made paint and traded some stuff for a few things of it. she decided on a soft yellow color that made a warm feeling fill up her body from head to toe. she wanted a happy color, what color was more cheerful than the one that mirrored the sun?

anya sat her things on the small deck, disappearing into the house before she carried her record player out, something she used her small solar panel to power up. she looked through the various old records she had been collecting,  selecting one of them before she moved the record player arm over and carefully lowered the needle onto the record. soft music began to play and a content smile found its way onto her face, leaning down to scratch behind jack's ear before she walked over and brought a thing of paint towards the exterior of her house. she took of the lid, mixing the paint and then taking one of the brushes she had found. without much of thought or a certain plan, anya just began to paint her house the bright yellow, lightly humming to the music.

// not very exciting, but she's painting her house! y/c can like offer to help or just observe n talk with her!

In fact, he readily welcomed it. Any chance to see the members of The Badlands enhancing the appearance of the city was encouraged, especially since it meant there was less work for Teddy to have to actively delegate. It was exactly what he had hoped for; visitors stepping through the territory in awe because of how beautifully manicured its surroundings were. And, as Teddy approached to see Anya painting the exterior of her quaint beach home, Teddy’s lips twitched at the sight of the yellow. The pastels nearly reminded Teddy of the French Quarter back at home, the way the beachfront homes all boasted the mellow hues of colour that brightened the shoreline.

❝ Ah, la joie de vivre[sup]1[/sup]! ❞ Teddy hummed as he stood nearby with his hands on his hips. Eyes admired her beachside outfit for a moment before he averted his gaze to observe the new lick of paint. Why was Teddy here, all the way on the other side of the beach, to visit Anya? Well, that was nobody’s business. All he could do was shift his weight before gesturing over towards the wall. ❝ I like da colour. Nice day to be out here too. Perfect weather, perfect music… ❞ Soon, he hopped up the steps onto the deck to stand closer, nodding his head in admiration as he looked at her supplies before turning to gaze across at her. ❝ A dancer and an artist... ❞ Slowly, he nodded his head, lips curling into a smile, ❝ I like it. ❞

He stood for a second before turning to wander towards the back door of her house. ❝ These are my favourite linen trousers so I’d hate to ruin them, but I can make us drinks. ❞ Less of an offer than it was a statement, but when Teddy insisted on kindness there was usually a valid reason. He liked being in Anya’s company — she was a beautiful girl inside and out — and so no wonder he’d try to make the best use of his time in order to spend longer on this side of the beach. He helped himself to oranges on the counters, working on squeezing them until he could produce enough orange juice for the both of them before eventually returning with two glasses. That was his work done for the day, lowering the glasses on a nearby table as he announced, ❝ A drink for the beautiful lady. ❞

The charm was sickening.
