It was time to go on a patrol. Not only to check on the edges of the territory; but their snares. A good source of food for the lodge, and one that he'd come a long way from, those days back in the edges of wilderness with Katja, where he could barely set one without it snapping. Now the forest was littered with them, all locations marked on a map of the lodge he'd painstakingly set out. Couldn't have people just stepping into them or disturbing them, could he?
Still, the time would go faster if he had help. So he waited by the fence that marked their borders--not actually enough to keep others out, but it helped. It was something from a while ago; before the council was killed. Much of their borders were falling down, harder to mark out. The endless snow was partly to blame, but of course--part of that was just neglect. He'd have to look into that. "Right. Who's coming with?" He asked.

Since getting out of the mine, Gray had pretty much only hunted for himself, believing that he could only rely on himself and that the Lodge didn't deserve his help. Which... Wasn't really true, but it was what had been dictating his actions for the past couple days.
Still, he found himself shuffling towards Johannes along with Jack and Daesung, hands deep in his pockets. He wasn't really equipped for hunting, but they were patrolling the border and checking traps, not taking down animals. He said nothing, figuring the Dictator would know that his presence was his indication that he wanted to go too.

Johannes gave a nod, watching the older man carefully. He was unsure of how to feel about him; he didn't know him well at all. However, he did seem willing and ready and able to work. Johannes appreciated it. "Good. Uh--thanks." He added quickly, glancing up to Daesung and giving a quick nod. He was really glad to see her around again; even though he didn't know her that well at all. The nickname struck him, much like Gray's use of 'chief' did--though he hadn't heard that in a while. Speaking of Gray...he gave the kid a quick nod, but didn't want to dwell or say anything to him--they were still on quite rocky ground.
"Right, lets go." He started walking, leading them down to the treeline. "Oh--" He paused, turning and handing each person a small jar of old paint. "I want us to mark out the borders in areas where the fences have fallen down. We're going to be working on actually getting up borders soon. Not--I don't know yet if they'll be, like--impassable, but so people at least know where we are."
