Here Comes A Lullaby *Private*

He blinked, looking ahead. After a while, they arrived at the bank

Ignis frowned and moved along.

Noctis walked beside him to the entrance. “There He is.” A voice said. Noctis blinked, turning back and spotting a few people moving over to them. Noctis frowned.

“Can I Help you?” Noctis asked. The group stopped, surrounding them a bit.

“Yeah. You wanna tell your old man to go back on the agreements? Our homes are out there. He can’t just toss them away like they’re nothing!” One of the men said. Noctis frowned. He looked then ober. Those uniforms...They were kingsglaive members. “We’re going to lose our jobs after this too.” The man added.

“I...I’m sorry. But this is how it has to be. The king’s word is law. If he says that we surrender and give up our lands then that’s what we must do.” Noctis said. The group looked at each other.

“To hell with you then. We’ll show the king that he’s messing with the wrong people.” One of them said. They then suddenly drew their weapons. One man charged at Noctis. Noct’s eyes widened. He was about to get hit with a sword, but a man suddenly stepped in front of them. The taller male had a sword drawn as well, holding it in front of the other guy’s sword, protecting Noct.

“Stand down soldier.” The talked man said narrowing his eyes. “Attacking the Prince isn’t going to change anything. You know that as well as I do. He can’t change the king’s Mind.” The man said, eyeing the shorter male. The shorter male soon moved away. He then moved off with the rest of the group. The taller male watched them leave before putting away his weapon as well. He then looked at Ignis and Noctis.

“Are you two okay?” He asked

Ignis had taken out his dagger and pushed noct behind him almost instantly before the man stopped the others. "were fine. you tell those brutes that we don't agree with it either." he muttered.

Noctis blinked, looking up at him. He frowned. This man was part of the kingsglaive as well. “Who are you?” Noctis asked.  The man bowed a bit to him.

“Nyx Ulric, your highness.” He said. Noctis blinked, looking him over.

“...Thank you, Nyx.” Noctis said. Nyx then straightened back up. He looked them over.

“I can tell you two aren’t staying in town. That’s a good choice. I can tell there’s something suspicious about this whole peace treaty. You guys are smart for wanting to skip town.” Nyx said. Noctis frowned.

“How did you know that?” Noctis asked.

“Look around, sir. The empire is demanding everything outside of this city. They talk of peace but they’ve never once shown themselves to be trustworthy. And you’re being forced into a marriage. It’s hndertanable you wish to leave town. I’d do the same thing we’re it not my duty to protect the king and his family.” Nyx said.

Ignis thought a moment. "you're kingsglaive, you said?"

Nyx nodded. “Yes, I am. Been in there for about a year now.” Nyx said

he nodded. "we could always use extra protection, if you'd like to come along."
