He could look at Johannes without feeling guilt, though why should he feel guilt? Aside from some harsh words, he'd never done anything to him. But he didn't have an easy time looking at him, either. The man had left him for dead, and Gray could only assume the older man didn't care what happened for him. He was pretty sure even the families he'd fled from had worried about him when he disappeared, that they still wondered if he'd survived. They missed him, he thought.
They wouldn't leave him to die.
Gray crossed his arms as Johannes stumbled through his explanation, though he wasn't really sure what he was trying to say or where he was going with this. He'd brought him something bad, but he wanted to do something, and he was sorry. The pink marker he took out helped to indicate what Joh had gotten him, which caused him to raise his eyebrow a little bit. The teen held out his hand, silently asking to see what was in it. "So what I'm getting is... you're sorry."
