Hux had never really been one to say any insults really seriously. Really, they were just ways for him to get his anger out, and to let out the annoyance he felt most of the time at the fact that while he had had to work, tooth and nail, screaming and bleeding and crying, to get where he was, Kylo had just shown up one day and was suddenly his co-commander. He didn't really talk about his emotions in a healthy way though, so insults and banter were the way he let loose his fire.
He had never really thought of any of his comments actually getting to Kylo though. However, it wasn't like he had just not noticed Kylo's sudden change of mood. Although he claimed to hate the other, he paid very close attention to his moods and life, and when he noticed the other not eating and leaving, he had followed. His footsteps were soft as he followed after the taller male, and he called out quietly, trying to stop the other from going right into his room, "Kylo! What is wrong with you?"
