Yes, the clan had been quite peaceful lately. Deadlock didn't mind much. The peace meant there weren't any wars needing to be fought. No troubling times for him or the others. They were thriving as far as he could tell. And he was enjoying the days of peace. But, he knew nothing ever lasted. Not even this.
The nights weren't as relaxing as the mornings for the canine. Most nights were fine, but many were plagued by nightmares for him. Tonight was one of those nights. Deadlock had awoken quite abruptly, his eyes snapping open. He took a moment to steady himself before letting out a slight huff. He couldn't sleep and he was feeling restless.
He soon rose to his paws, leaving the spot he had been sleeping at. Taking a stroll had always helped to ease is mind and relax him. He had no particular destination in mind. He just knew he had to get up and move around. Deadlock had been a bit distracted by his thoughts, just letting his paws carry him to wherever.
He stopped after a bit when he spotted the field. And another sight. Amaya. He hadn't expected to see anyone else awake this time of night. His ear flicked a bit curiously as he slowly approached the other.
"I'm surprised to see you out here this late in the night." the canine murmured, settling down on his haunches a few feet away from Amaya.
