I doubt they'd completely run out of water since they literally live next to the ocean , but in terms to starvation and such , maybe something temporarily poisons the water supply ( sewage maybe ? idk ) , and in result , begins to kill off the sea life in which they eat and rely on ? Since I don't really know about how long it takes to filter that stuff out , or if it's permanent or not , I'm not entirely sure if that would work , but I don't necessarily agree on changing the territories as I was around for the first move , and I think where they're at now , is fine .

but you can’t really drink sea water?? not unless you purify it, and that takes a long ass time unless you have the proper chemicals??
