It had been a few days later. Sombra had finally been announced that she was now a member of Overwatch. Some were accepting of her right away, but there were some other recruits who despised her. The first few days weren't too bad, but some had started to get violent. Jesse had been witness to a fight one day, so he had rushed to Sombra's side to help her.
Most days were like this. Jesse was going to tell Gabe about the fights, but Sombra didn't want to trouble him, so they both kept quiet about it. However, it was a common sight now to see Sombra walking alongside Jesse. Jesse sort of just became her body guard now. He didn't mind. She didn't deserve the hate she was getting from Overwatch.
Just like he was right now. Sombra was heading to the cafeteria for breakfast and Jesse was walking right by her side. He kept his gaze ahead, ignoring some of the glances thrown at them. Sombra looked down, keeping close to him. Once in the cafeteria, thy got some food before sitting down at a table together.
Jesse glanced around, noticing many were just staring at them. Sombra seemed rather tense. Jesse frowned, watching her before looking down. After a minute, Sombra's eyes widened when she spotted a few people walking over to them. They didn't look all that friendly. Jesse blinked, getting up and turning to face them.
"You guys have a problem?" Jesse asked, looking them over.
"Yeah, we do. Her. And if you're with her then we also have a problem with you." One of the men hissed. Jesse narrowed his eyes.
"The only one causin' problems here is you. And the rest of you bastards who are giving her a hard time. So if you want to get to her, then you're going to have to get through me first." Jesse muttered. The men chuckled.
"It's four against one. You're clearly outnumbered." One said.
"Numbers don't threaten me. Four, ten or twenty...I'd fight however many there were to keep her safe." Jesse hissed. The men shared a look before shrugging. They then started fighting with Jesse. Jesse fought back as best as he could against the four of them, but it was clear he was outnumbered.
Those in the cafeteria wasn't doing anything to stop them. They had merely circled around the fight, watching. Sombra glanced them over. Her eyes then widened when she noticed some of the men pulling out knives. Jesse suddenly let out a pained yelp.
Sombra quickly got up, quickly leaving the room. She sprinted down the hall. She glanced around before spotting Jack and Gabe in a room with Ana. "Dad!" Sombra said, quickly moving in. "There's a fight going on in the cafeteria...Jesse tried to protect me but I...I think he's hurt...Badly. Some of the men were attacking him with weapons." Sombra said.
