he smiled slightly and nuzzled him. “hey, conan?” he mumbles. gavin hardly ever used his real name.

He glanced down at him, seeming a bit surprised by the first name basis. “...Yeah?” He aksed softky

he hesitated. “are.. you happy?” he asked a bit cautiously. “you just.. i hardly ever see you smile any..”

Nine watched him. He tilted his head slightly. “...Of course I’m happy.” He murmured, brushing his fingers through his hair. “...I have a job. I’m alive. And...You’re alive and here with me.” He whispered

he closed his eyes after a moment and nuzzled his cheek. “so.. why don’t you smile..?”
