he nodded and led him across the street to a really nice looking apartment building. he led him to the fire escape so he didn't have to walk through the lobby.

he blinked and smiled softly. "i can promise you it won't be any trouble ok? if you get pulled over and you're all bloody, you're going to jail, which, for a hunter, probably won't be good." he said and sighed. lbesides, i can prove i'm not a monster."

around the apartment were several very old photos of a man and a child, and the child in the picture eventually grew to be him. these pictures continued through the decades, and eventually it came to the newest picture, which was black and white and of him and two other nem, his arms wrapped around their shoulders. he moved off to get a wet wash cloth and some whiskey.
