Jack frowned. “Gabe...I’m just as worried as you are but...He’s unpredictable now. I don’t need any of us getting hurt should he decide to attack.” Jack murmured

he frowned. "fine. you guys stay together, but i'm not hanging back."

Jack blinked. He gently set a hand on his shoukder. “Gabe...Just be careful.” Jack said.

he nodded and moved off.

Jesse wasn’t far away. Maybe about twenty minutes from Mercy’s House. But he was alone and in a more empty part of the town near the outer edge of it. It had started raining and Jesse was shaking a bit from cold. He soon stopped, taking a seat by a tree in a small field by the town. It offered some protection from the rain.

Jesse curled his knees up to his chest and sniffed as he closed his eyes. His breathing was shaking and a bit uneven. “Are you okay?” A voice asked. Jesse frowns in slight confusion. It sounded a bit robotic. He opened his eyes, looking over and spotting an omnic floating a few feet from him. Omnics didn’t live around here. At least he didn’t think so.

“I’m fine.” Jesse said, looking away. The other was silent for a moment.

“You do not seem okay to me. You look upset.” The omnic said. “What is troubling you?” He asked.

“None of your damn business.” Jesse whispered. The omnic fell silent for a minute.

“Oh, my apologies. I forgot to introduce myself. I am Zenyatta.” The omnic greeted. Jesse glanced him over before looking away. “I’ve seen other troubled souls such as yourself and I can tell you’re hurting. So what ails you? It need hurt to just rant.” Zenyatta said. Jesse clenched his hand into a fist.

“You should leave. It’s not safe to be around me.” Jesse said.

“You do seem very frightening. And what of your family? They just be concerned about you. You’re too young to be off on your own.” Zenyatta said.

“I...” Jesse trailed off, keeping his gaze away. “I’m dangerous and I can’t hurt my family so I ran away.” Jessse said. Zenyatta spoke lowered himself to the ground, sitting beside Jesss.

“Running will only hurt them as well. Running won’t protect them.” Zenyatta said.

gabe was walking through the streets, yelling jesses name in hopes that he might respond.

They fell silent when they heard somebody calling. Jesse froze. “Is that your family calling for you?” Zenyatta asked. Jesse nodded. “Then go to them. Whatever is going on, they can help. It’s clear they care about you if they’re searching for you.” Zenyatta said. Jesse glanced down.

“I can’t go back.” Jesse whispered.

“Then you will carry the guilt of running away on your mind forever. Trust me. It’s better to heal when you have friends and family surrounding you. You don’t have to suffer alone.” He said. Jesse was silent for a minute before looking over the direction he heard Gabe.

“...Gabe.” Jesse called out.

Gabe froze and looked around before following the voice. he let out a relieved breath when he saw him, rushing over and hugging him. "you.. little shit. don't you ever pull this shit again.." he whispered, voice shaking horribly.

Jesse let himself be pulled into a hug. He leaned into him, burying his face in his shoulder as he hugged him back.

he held onto him tightly, hands shaking slightly. "i hope you realise you are massively grounded.."
