i agree with paddy! like pretty welcoming and friendly but they do their own thing. maybe they could even be a bit weary of badlands but are still the same?
for territory, maybe they could be on an island in the middle of a big lake? and yeah, canoes are their main source of getting to the land. maybe they can even have a barn of horses or something either on the island or close to the edge of the mainland
