As I've already said, there is a shortage of muse ig because we have so many joiners and joining threads tend to be very, very boring and draining to reply to when it's the same thing over and over again. And while I don't mind if people write long posts for their introduction, I rarely reply to those joining threads because there's just more and more long replies that I don't want to read when I could be quickly replying to other threads and getting all of that done in one go instead. It's intimidation, not sheer pickiness.
