lucas, being as childish and naive as he was, really didn't understand that the reason ness came in here every day was him. he just thought it was because he liked the coffee. looking up at the nudge, he smiled and gently elbowed his brother. "i seriously doubt that he's here for anything other than out coffee, claus." he said and moved to the counter. "hiya, ness! what can i get you?"

Claus rolled his eyes and mumbled softly as he moved past the other to wipe down tables, "Yeah, sure, coffee. That's why he always has you dump half a gallon of creamer in the coffee to the point where it tastes like milk."
Ness, having not heard Claus' comment, gave Lucas a bright smile and said softly, "Just my usual, please! Having a good day~?" His usual was indeed just a basic coffee, but with a ton of creamer and sugar dumped into it. It was pretty disgusting to watch if you actually enjoyed coffee, but at least it wasn't as complicated as some people's orders.

lucas smiled and nodded, scuttling over to the machine, humming. he heard the bell ring and looked over. some people had just walked in, meaning ninten. he smirked at his brother. "speaking of romance interests, here's yours~" he teased. nintendo moved to the counter and hummed. "hey~" he greeted them.

[peridot.]

"He's the worst." Claus shot back before sighing and turning to face the other male, leaning one elbow on the counter as he said to Ninten in a deadpan customer service voice, "Hello, what would you like today?"
Ness, meanwhile, said cheerfully, "How's the lunch rush been? Not as bad as last week, I hope." Last week had been midterms for a ton of people, and thus they had ended up practically overflowing into the shop for coffee and snacks while they studied.

nin smiled. "mm.. venti sugar free vanilla meistoe with whip cream and cocoa powder." he said and smiled even brighter. every day it was something different and even more complicated.
lucas looked up and smiled, setting the coffee in front of him. "we've hardly had any customers today."

Claus stared at Ninten for a moment before glaring viciously at him and huffing through his teeth before moving to start making the drink. As things heated up, he grabbed the cup and stuck his tongue out at Ninten as he wrote very clearly 'Nuntin' on it.
Meanwhile, Ness picked up the coffee and sipped at it, smiling at Lucas and seeming a bit starstruck, "Ah, well, I'm sorry. Sounds boring~"

he poured. "oh come on! you know that's not how you spell it!" he said.
luca smiled. "not really~ i get to play pokemon while we wait for customers~"

"Maybe stop giving me a headache every time you order a drink and I'll remember how to spell your name." Claus deadpanned as he looked at the other, smirking a bit before turning around to start making the drink.
Ness smiled and stood on his toes a bit as he leaned on the other side of the counter, saying with a tilt of his head, "Oh, Pokemon! Which one are you playing?"

he huffed. "my followers are the ones who suggest it, so don't get mad at me!" he whined.
he hummed. "soulsilver~"

Claus and Lucas had been working in their parents' coffee shop since they were just little kids, and they had mostly enjoyed it. Claus had spent years and years watching over his little brother and keeping him from tipping equipment on top of himself, and Lucas had kept Claus from getting into full-on fist fights with customers. Ever since their Mother had died in a horrible car accident and their Father needed to work a ton, they were pretty much completely in charge of the shop now. It wasn't bad pay, and it meant that Claus could focus on his tinkering on the side, but it did mean that even now that he was 21 he still had to deal with shitty hipster customers. He also had to deal with Ness. The noirette had been coming in day after day to order coffee and ogle his little brother, and Claus didn't care if they were both 17 and single, he didn't want anybody trying to get down his brother's pants. Especially since his brother was too oblivious and focused on Claus' romantic life to ever notice.

At the moment, Clause was working the counter with Lucas, scrubbing it down between the lunch and late afternoon rush, when the bell above the door rang, and he looked up to see Ness walking through the door. The young man sighed and gently nudged Lucas with his hand, saying softly as he glared a bit at Ness, "Your not-so-secret secret admirer is back again."
