Jesse froze at the sudden hug. He blinked. “Gabe, I...” He trailed off. He closed his eyes. “...I can’t. I can’t get attached to someone again. Those who I love and cared about have all died. And...It’s hell to bear with. Even to this day, their deaths still keep me up some nights.” He whispered.

He pulled away. “I shouldn’t even be here. All I’ve ever done is cause you and the others pain and I almost got you killed. I...I can’t stay here.” Jesse whispered.

he frowned. "kid, if you leave, then you're just going to be labelled a coward, and that isn't what you are from what i've seen. we've all lost people, even jack and i- more then i can even keep track of. i've lost entire units under my command in single trips and failed missions, but a few mistakes is no reason to leave. you had a reason to do what you did, because you loved and cared for your sister, and jack and i are giving you a second chance to do things right." he said and held jesse at arms length after a moment, looking him over. "don't leave, because then you'd get killed for treason, for one, and two, we like having you around jesse. so just, think about my offer ok?"

Jesse blinked. He met Gabreil’s gaze. He looked him over before nodding. “Yes sir.” He said.

he nodded and smiled softly. "good. now why don't you go get some rest?" he said and pat his shoulder.

He nodded. He moved away from Gabriel, moving off.

Jack soon moved over to Gabriel. "Is he okay?" Jack asked, glancing at Gabe.

he blinked. "he's feeling out of place and guilty. he said he was going to leave but.. i think i got him to stay. i hope." he sighed. "i was thinking.. if it's a girl, we should name it juliet."

He glanced at Gabe. "...That's nice. But wouldn't that be a bit hard for Jesse if her name was Juliet?" He asked.

he blinked. "well.. i can ask him, see how he feels about it." he said and hesitated. "you know how we agreed to pick godparents? you pick godmother, i pick god father?"

He blinked. "Yeah. You found someone?" He asked.

he blinked. "i asked jesse." he stated and looked over him. "i thought.. since he has experience raising kids, and if no one else could take the the baby if something happened to us.. he would be our best option. because my sister has nine kids, and i'd rather them not live with out parents with how up there in age they're getting.."
