he sighed. “i mean.. when’s the best time to have a kid, jesse? never. jack and i adopted joshua in the middle of a war. right now, things are considered calm.”

Jesse blinked, looking him over. “...I see.” He said. He then hugged Gabe again. “...I know it’s rough emotioanly for you. But it will get better. I promise.” He murmjred

Gabe sighed and hugged back. “yeah, things are rough, and joshua will always be my baby, but.. he wouldn’t want me to be sad forever..”

Jesse kept close to him. “...There’s nothing wrong with mourning your son and remembering him. He’s never truly gone until you forget about him.” He said

he nodded. “i know, but.. it’s not like i’d ever forget him.”

“That’s good.” He murmjred. He looked him over. “...And...And if anything ever happens to you and Jack, I’ll be sure to carry on your memories as well as Joshua so you’re never forgotten.” He said

he looked at jesse and blinked. “you’re too good for this work.” he mumbled.

Jesse glanced at him. “...That’s my job as your comrade. To carry out your stories and never let the world forget what you sacrificed for every civilian out there. And it’s my job as your family to keep your memories alive even if you’re jot anymore.” He said
