But when we’re alone he’s a really sweet guy.” Olivia said.

he frowned. “let me tell you a little story.” he said. “my sister, when she was your age, had this little boyfriend. this boyfriend, she insisted was amazing and sweet, but he wouldn’t tell anyone they were together and made her promise she wouldn’t tell anyone.” he said. “eventually, he talked her into having sex. she got pregnant, and when she told people, he refused, saying it wasn’t his baby, and she became an outcast because everyone called her a liar and a whore.” he stated. “and if you know what’s good for you, you won’t take shot from this kid, or where gonna be giving him some shit. such as fists.”

Olivia watched Gabe for a moment before looking down. She sighed, nodding. “I know dad. I know you’re trying to protect me. I understand that. But...I can handle myself dad.” Olivia murmured.

he frowned and sighed. “invite him to dinner.” he said. “go on. get your phone and invite him over.”
