The tall and burly man had just finished getting out a fight with his nurse. The icy-eyes man kept being told that he could reopen his wound yet again, and that he needed to rest. But he had sneered, instead, pushing her away as he went to sit down in the common area for the patients. After hiding at a table, the man letout a dull sigh, rolling his shoulders back. Finally, he managed to get away.

That’s when he heard, ”Mister MacTavish! You need to rest!” And an arm grasping his shoulder, to which he knocked it away, ”Oi! Just leave me alone!”

What a scene.

Roach had just sat back. He grabbed his own wrist, attempting to stop the trembling in his hands. He was still rather weak, despite the amount of time given to recover. Then again, being shot and burned wasn't an easy thing to recover from. Both physically and mentally. Luckily, he didn't look too bad. The majority of the serious burns were on his abdomen and chest. The familiar name being called by a not-so-happy nurse caught his attention and the young soldier quickly looked in the direction of the stubborn Scotsman and the overbearing nurse. His eyes widened and a small smile split his face. "Soap?"

Yeah, Roach surely got it worse. He got injured first, and then was left to die off and burn. That didn’t mean that Soap wasn’t exactly with being stabbed, healing, and then having to shove someone, a traitor at that, out of a an exploding church. That wasn’t on his mind, as he was still fighting with the nurse.

Until he heard Roach. He stops, looking at him, and then his icy blue eyes went wide. His movements were slow at first, before he rushes over, attempting to hug him, not really knowing or caring for the burns. ”Sergean— Roach...? How are you..?” His question was just above a whisper.

Roach was up an instant, the sudden movement causing some lightheadedness, but he ignored it. He tried not to wince when Soap hugged him, wrapping his own arms around the Captain. He hadn't seen Soap since... well, in a long while. Taking a step back after that moment, he breathed a little easier when his burns weren't being pressed again. "Well, I'm alive," he answered, his smile widening as he shrugged and sat back down, hand against his temple. "How are you?"

He was alive? Yeah. Soap could very well see that, and it was a pleasant surprise to see him like that. Sure, he was a bit burnt, but nothing... worse. Soap sat next to him, watching the hand on his temples. The captain frowned, ”Nevermind that, are you alright? Do you need.. like some medicine, ibuprofen, mate?”

Roach glanced at Soap as he sat, asking him about medicine. He shook his head slightly, not losing the smile. "I'm fine, just a bit lightheaded. Stood up too fast. Can you answer my question now, captain?" It was always like Soap to worry and care for everyone else more than he did for himself and that was one relief Roach realized.

Soap let out a hum, staring at the younger soldier, tapping his hands upon the table. The captain even let out a chuckle upon Roach still happy, still smiling like a child. ”Maybe get up slower next time, mate?” He requests. The Scotsman then shifts upon Roach asking for an answer, wincing at the pain in his chest, although it subdues over time. ”Yeah, ‘M fine, mate. Just been tired lately.”

Something more in common with any recovering patient and Roach felt the same. The exhaustion was both mental and physical, really. Late nights with the smell of burning flesh and the feeling of an imaginary fire contributed to it for the most part. He nodded slightly, moving his hand from his temple to his lap, interlocking his fingers together and twiddling his thumbs. "Have you heard anything about anyone else...?"

Soap let out a sigh. He knew what Roach was going to say as soon as he twiddled his thumbs. And, sure, Soap may not have known the feeling of a fire and that awful smell, but he knew how it was to lay on a broken bridge, to hear gunshots and a helicopter go down. The Scot’s gaze turns cold for a minute, ”Price, Nikolai, and this guy named Yuri... I think they brought down Makarov.”

That brings some comfort to Roach until he meets Soap's eyes again. A frown replaces his seemingly eternal smile. Wringing his hands, he leans forward slightly, chewing the inside of his cheek. "I assume that means... you probably haven't heard from anyone?"
