jaal had always been fairly sneaky, despite his size, and he was somewhat of a kleptomaniac, if you could even call it that. he was more a collector. he liked to collect things he didn't understand and take them apart. however, there was one thing he couldn't bring himself to dismantle. a beautiful human music box that played some of the prettiest music he had ever heard. he had found it on one of the dead bodies on eos when they had gone back to fight to roekarre, and swiped it when no one was looking- yes, in the midst of battle.

sometimes, when he was working, he would wind it up and listen to it, however he would normally close it if someone came close to his door. this time, he hadn't heard the footsteps of pathfinder ryder drawing closer to his room. he had the music box wound up and playing what sounded like the music box version of rude by magic, as he took apart one of gil's old and broken tools, humming to the music softly.

Scott had been going off to find Jaal. He just wanted to check in and make sure everything was alright. He couldn’t help but slow down a bit when he heard music. Where was that coming from? He soon moved to Jaal’s room, opening the door a bit. He looked inside. A music box? He had t seen one of those in a whike

jaal didn't notice the door was open until he stoop to grab his datapad, and gasped, a hand going over this chest and quickly closing the little music box. "ryder!" he said and cleared his throat, trying to pretend nothing was going on. "i.. assume you received my email?"

He rose an eyebrow but nodded. “Yeah, I did.” He said. He looked him before smiling. “You didn’t have to shut it off. It sounded nice.” He said

he cleared his threat. "uh.. yes, i'm aware it does." he said and looked to the remnant data core. "i managed to.. decide the remnant data core that peabee couldn't, if you'd like to read it's contents.."

He blinked. “Nice job Jaal.” He said. He then moved over to it

he blinked. "it's mostly things we already know, such as what meridian is.."
