[align=center] [div style="width: 400px; color: black; text-align: justify; padding: 20px"]— GUIDE TO OWNING PETS
Due to Northstar District living in a tropical rainforest / jungle type area, there are plenty of animals running amok that will, occasionally, meet up with the members here, either as hostiles or neutrals. Some of these animals can be befriended and sometimes even domesticated, but there are certain requirements you have to follow in order to own a pet without harming others.
Upon joining ND members will be given a horse as a mount and will be responsible in part for breeding and keeping their needs met. When not used, horses are to be kept in the stables, but you will be required to train and keep them relatively stable under your care and under others, as the maesters will occasionally tend to them as well. When you breed them their foals will be either traded off to the two other neighboring groups or kept for future members.
Cats and dogs and other commonly domesticated animals are given free roam but are required to be cared and looked after as well as trained just like horses are. If you fail to meet their needs then you will be responsible for anything your pet does, such as hurting another member and/or damaging supplies, etc.
Wild animals found in the jungle are not to be interfered with. If you plan on attempting to "domesticate" them, then you do so at your own risk, but until they are deemed fit to live within the groups home you should do it outside of the camp. A special case is if the wild animal is very young and still able to be influenced and controlled, but once they are old enough and display wildly erratic behavior, it is expected to release them immediately (i.e., big cats like jaguars).
In short, pets are your responsibility, and ND will not look after them as a group. If you want to die trying to placate a jaguar, then ND will have nothing to do with it. However, whatever bad behavior your pet does immediately comes back to you and it is up to you to fix the damages caused. It is a huge responsibility and not recommended for those who lack the ability to handle it.

[align=center] [div style="width: 400px; color: black; text-align: justify; padding: 20px"] — TRADE INFORMATION
Trade is a vitally important part of Northstar, and generally anyone is allowed to do it (unless there is an embargo against them, but as of now no such embargoes exist), though only members of Northstar with an ID can set up a trading booth within their territory. Typically most of the trading is done by specialized NPCs, though members also can partake. As of now the NPCs are being arranged, but if one is needed please message Pyre.

[align=center] [div style="width: 400px; color: black; text-align: justify; padding: 20px"] — ID INFORMATION
Getting an ID is often one of the most important things a new member of Northstar can do, and will usually be prompted to get one upon joining so that they can be full members with a wider range of permissions (including the ability to carry their weapon). If they don't get an ID, they do not get those permissions and should they break any of Northstar's rules, the punishment will be harsher.
So what is the process of getting an ID like? Well, first joiners/members seeking an ID will be told they'll have to surrender their weapons upon reaching camp (they're allowed to keep them sheathed/put away on the way to camp as the jungle has many dangers and it's much safer to be armed on the walk back), but only for the time it takes to get the ID. An HP (often an Emissary or the Guardian, but any HP has permission) will conduct a brief interview in which the joiner/member will have to give their name, date of birth (or just their age if they don't know their exact date of birth) and gender. They'll also be asked to pose for a sketch of their head and shoulders. The ID will also have the signature of whichever HP accepted them and/or made the ID. Then they'll be off.
This is all necessary for several reasons. First, it establishes trust between the joiner/member and the rest of the group, as they are agreeing to give up their weapons and giving some basic information about them to the higher ups. They are putting themselves utterly at the group's mercy, which makes trusting them easier, it also makes them trust Northstar more, as nothing bad happened to them when they couldn't defend themselves. Secondly it is to keep track of everyone in the group; people come and go all the time and it helps everyone if there's a way to keep track of everyone and prove the identities of people.
The making of the IDs is handled icly and typically isn't roleplayed out. If you'd like to oocly add your character to the database or just see what an ID looks like, check out this thread.

This portion is still under construction. Anyone that has a question to be added, post here or PM Pyre.
 Q: Where do I join the Northstar Discord server?
A: Anyone that is joining Northstar is free to join the server, just PM Pyre about it. (Other members in the server can also bring new people in, though not everyone is in the server). For privacy's sake, the link to the server isn't posted anywhere open/public.
 Q: Do we need a whole thread making the ID?
A: No, we don't need it! Typically we just say that it happened, though if you'd like to have a thread you should talk to Pyre or the HP that is making the ID.
