 i wish i could tell you that this was still america, but i've come to realize you can't have a country without people. and there are no people here. no, my friends. this is now the united states of zombieland.
NO ONE KNOWS exact numbers, but there's no doubt that they're low. people don't really know how, or when, the outbreak occurred, either. rumors circulated that the plague started in a lab, in the united states, and the government knew about it for months upon months. it was supposedly some kind of secret project, a new method of warfare that just went wrong but... maybe the word was spread by the radical conspiracy theorists. some say it was the shit water in broke neighborhoods, others say it was rabid animals, but no one really knows. at this point, does it really matter?
ALL PEOPLE KNOW is that one day they were driving to work, or dropping their kids off at school, or headed to class, and the next, they were watching people rip faces off of their co-workers, neighbors, and friends. the realization of the outbreak was the most gruesome part of the waves. it was heartbreaking, watching either those closest to them be attacked, or terrifying, when they were the ones that were next. the population plummeted at the start, as people scrambled and panicked in search of safety. not many people survived, and those who did were shaken to their core.
GOVERMENT FACILITIES were completely packed, and ended up turning away the stragglers who arrived too late. people suffered in what was known as the despair stage. some couldn't handle the paranoia, or the thought of being next, and chose to off themselves. riots occurred in major cities, and whatever news stations left perished in the civil war, or to the zombies that were attracted to the commotion. the despair stage was the start of radio silence and the end of electricity. it was a complete blackout, and people were lonely when alone, and falling sick when finding others.
FINALLY, THE LAST stage didn't arrive until months later, when people began getting a grasp of their new lives. only the strong survived, only the smartest survived, only those who were quick on their feet. or, of course, the cautious survived as well. government facilities were quick to fall once they ran out of supplies, and the last of the weak ended up either being protected, or getting eaten. some stragglers managed to combine forces and create their own running towns and blocks. but everyone still knew better. never get too attached.
WELCOME TO LITTLE dump. a small, underwhelming city in the suburbs of chicago. it doesn't have much, but it has enough, including electricity and bottled water. and it'll take anyone who is willing to join. it was founded by a ragtag band of people who don't mesh or get along much, but work like a well-oiled machine. biggest rule of the place is to remain distant, unattached, and so people don't really talk much or have names, even. but it works. these are all perks, of course, but people don't come to little dump for just shelter and some food, they come on the prospect of hope. they come for the unparalleled pride of the place the runners. being a runner is a tough job, and somehow, they're the best of the market and they have founded their home in little dump. they all have their quirks, of course, a couple more odd than others. such as the list.
BUT EITHER WAY, little dump is the place to be, if you're looking for an easier life in the united states of zombieland. but just don't get too comfortable.
THE RULES:
1. CARDIO: zombies lead a very active lifestyle, so should you.
2. THE DOUBLE TAP: in those moments when you're not sure the undead are really dead dead, don't get all stingy with your bullets. one more clean shot to the head and you could avoid becoming a human happy meal.
3. BEWARE OF BATHROOMS: when you're at your most vulnerable, somehow they could just smell it. don't let them catch you with your pants down.
4. WEAR SEAT BELTS: it's gonna be a bumpy ride.

PLOT: :^) hi. the intro was a bit long and dark, but this is based off of zombieland, mixed with a bit of the walking dead. so it's gonna use some of the same concepts of both, but it's okay if you haven't seen either. this is gonna take place in a small, straggler operated town. they're up and coming, and are known for taking in anyone who asks to join. people all go by where they're from, instead of their names, in order to remain neutral and for no one to get too attached. anyway, this thread is specifically about the runners of little dump, and their missions and adventures, so yeah!

she did, however, end up falling down the wrong path in high school. it was then that she discovered her interests in fire, and robbery. she enjoyed the thrill, and in her mind, she was invincible, at the time. she ended up being arrested at eighteen, for robbery and arson, after robbing the local convenience store and lighting it on fire after the owner tried to feel her up in the bathroom. it wasn't her best moment, but prison reigned her in. she had two years in prison, but after a year, she planned her escape and got out as the plague started. family: the only family she's ever known is her father, douglas jamison. she isn't sure if she wants to know whether he's still alive or not, in fear of the disappointment she would see.

 smokes at least two or three times a day. she's trying to get herself to quit, but it's a lot harder than she bargained for.
 if she's not smoking, she's chewing gum. she can chew through an entire pack of twenty four in a single day. she hates it when they lose flavor.
 has a prosthetic left leg, she blew off her real leg when she was around eight due to fiddling around with her father's guns. while the leg wasn't too damaged, all of her nerves were shot, so she couldn't walk. they decided to amputate it and fit her with a prosthetic instead.
 paints herself as this hard, stoic bitch that doesn't give a shit about anyone, but truthfully, she does care a lot. she just struggles to show it, and doesn't want to seem weak in front of others.

history: theo was born and raised in azusa as an only child with a single mother, keisha. his entire childhood he remembers being dirt poor and struggling and all he ever wanted to do was lift his mom out of all of that. there was shitty guy after shitty guy because she had depression that was untended to and she had a child with undiagnosed autism, so she had no idea why he wasn't developing exactly the same as other kids and she needed support but the only type of men that came just preyed on that. he graduated high school on time but couldn't afford to start going to college, so he too what was intended to be a gap year and worked a full time job and all the free time he had he dedicated to the special interest that was most important to him, fashion and fashion design. he drew, he watched interviews, he looked at clothes where ever he could on whoever he could until eventually he decided that that's all he wanted to do. he began putting together a profile what he was still working, taking it to whatever connections he could get in la whenever he could, saving money to hopefully go to school for design. he ended up making an instagram, posting his designs and whatever rough prototypes he could make with what he could afford and gaining attention and and a core following and eventually, his profile came up in the right person's recommended and the producer of a fairly well known line contacted him about starting his own. he accepted immediately and did nothing but that for the next 2 years until he pushed out his first fashion show at age 23 and absolutely blew up. by the time all this happened, he was worth around 8 million dollars. family: keisha kilgore, his mother, is the only one that matters
