However , while I understand the survey is anonymous and I encourage you to write any honest thoughts you have , please do so in a civil manner as some of the comments made about certain members or characters were downright rude and could've been handled better ^^; You're also free to discuss any concerns and whatnot here , but again , please keep things civil .
Anyways , I'm gonna do my best to address all points in a condensed fashion .
ACTIVITY :
Okay , so I've seen a few comments brought up about us needing a little more activity , responding to joinings quicker since it's annoying to wait a week before getting accepted when we're the most active group , and well , I think we're doing pretty good on activity so far ? Bearbones in general is a slow site , but , as school begins to start for some people , and others have work , there's not much I can do ? I know for me personally , I started school a couple of weeks ago , and it's important for me to find a good balance between academics and on-site stuff , being so close to graduating . I can guarantee you though , you'll never have to wait an entire week before getting accepted as we generally respond to any joinings in a timely manner ; 3 days at the most if we haven't already gotten to them ! If you feel like your thread might've got looked over on accident , feel free to either give your thread a bump , or tag either the proxy [member=5888]Sheogorath[/member] or me , the leader [member=8997]PARKS L.[/member] for quicker responses !
THE OOC COMMUNITY :
Reviews have been mixed on this one ; some are saying community's nice and they feel welcomed , and others are saying there are cliques / some members that make them feel uncomfortable , and feel left out ; and I want EVERYONE to feel included and comfortable here , so I'm gonna do my best to resolve any problems . There aren't really any specifics details concerning this except for one issue that I'm currently talking to a member about , but to those who feel uncomfortable around certain members / feel like there are cliques , can you privately PM me , so I know who exactly and can talk to them ? Otherwise , there's not much I'd really be able to do about it . However , I'm definitely gonna encourage everyone to be more inclusive , especially in the discord where conversation does tend to be fastpaced , and people get overlooked on accident . I'm also gonna do my best to encourage more interaction on the on-site chat , since I know some don't feel comfortable on discord , or don't have access to it !
For those who are in the discord ; please make sure you're being inclusive ! Add people to the conversation , offer to plot with characters you aren't very familiar with , or simply ask them how they're doing . I know how easy it is to get lost within a conversation since it moves so quickly and there's more than just one topic being discussed , but if you see someone getting overwhelmed , please slow it down or take it to PMs . This also goes for the voice chat . I know once the voice chat get's going and everyone starts to join in , it's easy to talk over one another when everyone's pretty much talking at once . Just be respectful to everyone , and let whoever's speaking finish what they have to say , y'know ?
Also , I've seen a lot of responses wanting more OOC bonding , and I promise I will deliver !! In fact , me and Sheo were discussing having a theme week which I'll be putting up a poll for that very soon in order to see what theme(s) you guys want ! We've also agreed on having another choice awards , so expect that soon too ! We've also got a few more ideas such as : ' songs that fit your characters ' , ' memes / vines that fit your characters ' , and a ' fun facts about your characters ' thread ! Bringing back game night ( kahoot , draw my thing , cards against humanity , etc ) is also in mind if people are interested / have enough free time !
THE IC COMMUNITY :
So far , the majority of responses have been incredibly pleasant , and I'm so glad you guys are enjoying the direction the Badlands is heading and all the characters !!! I've seen just a few comments here and there about events , needing more conflict inside and outside the Badlands , and making the Badlands a bit more violent and having it affect other groups , and all I got to say is the events ? They're coming ! The conflict ? It's coming ! Most definitely (｡•̀ᴗ-)✧ I've got a LOT planned for the Badlands here ; but I'm not gonna spoil what it is just yet .
I've also noticed a few comments stating they think the Badlands is becoming a little ' too bad ' and we need to tone it down , or a character may be too extreme when dealing with joiners which can drive people away or make them uncomfortable , and all I gotta say , in the best way possible , on this matter is that the Badlands , is , well , bad . Parks , as a character , is much different from Charlie , and so is her leadership . She's going to allow things Charlie wouldn't have , and I really do apologize if it makes others uncomfortable that we have villainous characters , but we do try our best to put as many trigger warnings within our posts and such , but the Badlands , is , again , bad . If you believe your characters won't agree with that , ND and FL are much more on the good / neutral-leaning side , so that may be a better option for you ! We are , however , gonna get into the habit of asking if people want violence and so-on in their joinings , so people aren't immediately pushed away !
Also dealing with IC interactions , I know a lot of you mentioned needing more opens seeing as the board is filled with joinings and barely any opens , and I swear I'm working on putting up some :p I've got a card game coming that encourages interactions between characters and member initiations which will be held in groups .
THE TERRITORY :
Concerning the suggestions about a territory change seeing as it doesn't quite hold it's ' uniqueness ' now that ND also resides in a coastal city , while I'm definitely not opposed to changing it in the future , I don't have any current plans on switching that up right now , mainly because they seem to be doing fine there as is , and I don't know where they would go unless someone has any suggestions . However , I've received a few comments about expanding on the territory , and we're gonna do just that ! I really loved the idea about a cliff being used to hold executions and such as well as building stables and a paddock ! The teaching members how to sail in order to use boats for raids is also great , and so is the suggestion of adding a sailor title ! I know how I said I'm gonna be implementing something along the longs of a ' fight club ' where members can sign up to fight each other , but the suggestion of having the ' Champion ' title for the winner , is definitely something I want to add in as well !
