this is dated from when he first moved to nd so i'll edit this later but

mickey grew up in a rich household. before the whole apocalypse, mickey was in med-school, studying to become a surgeon. during his education, around his freshman year of college, he met ellie, who he dates for an extremely long time. he lived an extremely sheltered life. he was roommates with lucerne during his time at school, but when tnw happened, he went back home to continue his sheltered life with his family, who still had electricity before it was completely wiped.
and mickey was totally okay with that. he was totally fine with being the good boy, the rich boy, the spoiled boy. but then he'd always longed to be out of the house, especially since he was never exposed to the dark sides of the world yet.
his parents were mixed up in a side of the world he wasn't aware of yet, not until he dad was killed- and he still blames the man, brock van den bergh for it.
he didn't leave until one night, when ellie's sister and mom were murdered.
the only problem was that he left totally ill-equipped, and since he'd been sheltered his entire life he wasn't prepared for a city full of gangs and people willing to do anything to make it by. he knew he wasn't going to survive for too long if he didn't think fast, so he did the most reasonable thing.
he joined a gang called the carbines. and then, climbing through the ranks, he became the leader of said gang. his time in the gang was relatively scarring, and he has suffered a lot of trauma through it all.
during his time in the gang, he began to question his sexuality. discovering he was gay, and breaking it to his then-fiance, ellie, absolutely broke his heart. probably one of the rare occasions where he actually cried, before.
the only reason he left the gang in the first place was because it was becoming too dangerous for him and ellie. shortly before the break-up, ellie was almost kidnapped by a spy in the gang, who had killed their dog/four-legged child, winnie. that was the breaking point that caused mick to leave the gang, determined to keep ellie safe.
basically this guy is ultimate badass who will /never/ talk about his once-lavish and sheltered lifestyle
he has ptsd, but that is not the main point of his existence and he's so much more than the trauma he's haunted by.

personality-wise, he's very pensive and closed-off. he doesn't trust easily because of all the tough times he's gone through. painfully introverted, definitely the type to be in the background at most big events because the spotlight isn't particularly his thing. very under-the-radar. reserved. generally stoic - kinda has a thing i've coined as "a ghost of a smile" which is where he isn't smiling, but you can tell that he really wants to because it's just barely there.

do they have any nicknames? What are they? he goes mostly by mick . his mom used to call him "mickey roo" after mickey rooney.

how did they get them? it's just a shortened version of his name. and mickey rooney.

do they like the nicknames? he does! he gets annoyed with mickey mouse jokes . understandably so.

what pronouns do they go by now? he/him.

how old are they? Do they look their age? he's 33 . i think he looks a lot like his age ; older, but not too old

how old are they mentally? he's very wise, definitely an old soul.

do they celebrate it? no. he usually just goes about it like any other day - he doesn't think he's someone worth celebrating

do they believe in any religion? he was raised in an atheist household. when he started dating ellie and they became more serious, he started to lean more towards christianity. however, since then he's fallen out and remains comfortably atheist.

what holidays do they celebrate? usually all the traditional ones. he's not much of a celebratory person; if he does celebrate he's usually sitting comfortably in the background. however, i've always pictured his favorite holiday to be valentine's since he's such a hopeless romantic

what do they sound like when happy? it's hard telling when he's happy. he sounds just the slightest bit lighter; you can hear the smile sometimes but not quite see it.

mad? he rarely gets mad. usually he sounds just tense, until he keeps bottling it all up more and more until he finally yells at someone - which he always regrets afterward.

sad? the same as he would any other day. he'll keep those feelings to himself.

scared? even when he's scared, he wouldn't let on that he is. he wants others to feel assured, even when he's terrified.

how do they act when excited? again, it is kinda hard to read whether he's excited or not. however, usually you can tell he's excited if he starts asking a lot of questions, or tugs someone along, or seems impatient

how about mad? Sad? i think i already answered the mad one up above. but when he's sad i picture him being extremely vague about everything that's going on.

what does their neutral expression look like? stoic. hard to read.

do they keep their hands in their pockets? yes.

at what time do they wake up? an early-bird (as are most medical professionals). i picture him getting up early in the morning, getting a nice start to his day

when do they go to bed? later in the night. he doesn't enjoy sleeping too much.

do they fall asleep easily? not really. he tends to be fairly restless

do they shift around a lot when sleeping? everyone shifts around a bit in their sleep, but i wouldn't say mick is squirming or moving around too much

how do they feel about close contact? depends on the person. he's not really the grabby or touchy-feely part except for when he's in a relationship.

do they get cold or hot easily? he's usually comfortably cool

how do they give it? it's usually through gentle touches and soft words. also he has "micknames" that he gives people he really cares about; it's like his special pet name for them that sets them apart from everyone else

who or what influenced their personality? his dad was a major influence for him growing up. he took after him in every way he could (such as pursuing a job in the medical field, picking up smoking, and taking after his calm demeanor).

what's their biggest flaw? he has a hard time forgiving himself for his past.

how do they see themselves? he thinks very little of himself, though some days he's kind of indifferent.

how about ideal best friend?  someone willing to sit in silence with him. accept him for how he is; quiet, reserved.

what's their favorite thing about their best friend? they get along very well together. their reserved natures makes their friendship work.

who are their other friends? What are they like? tara baskerville, who is so much more than just a friend. she's more like a friend soulmate than anything. lucerne nouvel is aloof and distant, hard to understand, though mick has an incredibly soft spot for him. he feels the need to protect him. thomas stirling-moray, who mick pretends to be annoyed by but it's fairly evident they're good friends. simply put, he's a friend that mick tolerates.

do they have any enemies? What are they like? brock van den bergh is his only (alive) enemy at the moment. mick resents him for killing his dad, but has since distanced himself from the man after helping him kill mateo.

who are their allies? the stirling family.

how big is their family? very small. for as long as he could remember it was just him and his mom and dad.

do they get along well with their family? absolutely.

what is their perception of family? he thought his parents were the perfect example of love; they set the standard for him. he loves his parents.

are their parents still alive? no. not his dad at least. his mom is still around, but she vanished during his time in the carbines (when he needed her most) and he hasn't seen her since.

are there things they look for in a partner? he likes genuine people. he always thought he wanted somebody much like him, reserved and quiet. however, the longer he's with vernon, the more he realizes their differences are what makes them so great.

how do they feel about romance right now? he feels like he's finally found it.

do they have a crush on someone? he's dating someone.

when did they realize that crush? i think he fully realized his crush on green long after he'd been crushing on him. i think it was the small things, like green placing a blanket over him when he'd fallen asleep on the couch, or green dragging him into the silliest things.

how do they act around their crush? he was more open to go up and strike up conversation with them first. for once he actually hated saying goodbye.

are they trying to hide the crush, or make it obvious? well he hid it for a long time.

do others know about it? i think people realized before he even did.

do they have a partner? Are they engaged? he has a boyfriend, not yet engaged.

what's their past love life like? ellie was his first relationship, and his last before green came into the picture. it was great for the first couple of years, though the carbines changed everything for them. it became less healthy; it was wrong for the both of them to stay in that relationship any longer. also he was friends-with-benefits with eddie. he realized friends-with-benefits didn't really complete him; he's too much of a hopeless romantic. they still remain best friends.

their current? it's incredibly healthy and supportive. they're both broken people, trying to grow together.

how do they behave in a relationship? he's noticeably more at ease around them.

what's their love language like? i'd say words of affirmation or physical touch.

how would they describe their partner? there's a pin in his board that says "he was christmas morning, crimson fireworks and birthday wishes" and if that doesn't sound like green i don't know what does. more than anything, he sees green as golden-hearted and way too good for him.

is there anything they don't like about their partner? i don't think there's anything he genuinely dislikes about green. he can't relate to how trusting he used to be of people, though i don't think he holds/held that against him.

what was their first kiss like? ellie was his first kiss. it was absolutely nerve-wracking because he didn't want to mess their relationship up.

their first date? ellie was his first girlfriend/date. they went ice skating and it was really fun !

what kind of gifts do they tend to give? thoughtful small ones. he's not for making gifts big and showy, but instead they're more heartfelt. something he knows the other person wanted/would want.

are they a light or passionate kisser? it depends on the situation. i feel like first kisses with someone are light and gentle. though in certain situations it's a more passionate kiss.

how does it feel when they kiss? his kisses feel sweet and intimate, offering up the most vulnerable pieces of himself for someone else to see

how and where did they first meet their partner? i can't remember what event it was (i think a bl wedding?) but green kinda saw how miserable mick was in fl and said "hey if you ever want to come to nd you can" and what do you know mick did

which one asked the other out? How was the moment? mick asked green out. they were at the clinic while mick closed up. it was actually extremely wholesome.

are there any traits that clash? at a glance, just about every trait of theirs ought to class. green thinks with his heart, mick thinks with logic first. mick is introverted, green is the exactly opposite. however, their personalities don't clash. if anything mick really admires green for all of those "clashing" traits

what was their first home like? it was his apartment with lucerne! he thought lucerne was odd, but he ended up getting a soft spot for him. their apartment was average, nothing spectacular, but mick has fond memories there.

what is their current home like now? he currently lives with green in green's house. it's not the biggest of showiest house, but it feels like home .

do they like it? absolutely, yes

what's their dream home? he doesn't really have one.

who was the most occurring person in their life? hM nobody i can think of really. his carbines-era friends, tom and john.

do they still help your character now? no. they're... dead... because of mick...

was the character alive when the blackout first started? What was it like for them? yes! his parents were strict though so he didn't get to experience too much before the world went dark

BUT. the most traumatizing moment for him has to be when he thought eddie was dead and he had to perform cpr to bring him back.
