Nines watches Gavin for a moment before saying softly, "I understand if you say no, but if you'd rather, I could accompany you home so that you would have someone to make sure you don't make any rash decisions, while also not having to be around everyone in the department."

he was silent for a moment. “you’d do that..?”

Nines nodded and said, chewing on his lip for a moment, "Yes, of course I would. You are my partner and... My friend, and you seem to be upset, so if you need someone to make sure you don't do anything to hurt yourself, I'll be happy to."

he hesitated and moved to hug him, seemingly too weak to squeeze him.

Blinking in surprise, Nines stared at the other for a moment before wrapping his arms back around Gavin, holding him and hugging back carefully.

he flinchedvaway and hesitated. “don’t..” he mumbled.

Nines frowned and pulled his hands away, saying softly, "I apologize, I thought I was supposed to hug back.."

he shook his head. “no.. th... thank you for checking on me..@ he mumbled softly,moving to look at his eyes in the mirrow before sighing and reaching to take his contacts out.

Watching Gavin silently for a moment, Nines tilted his head and asked softly as the other took his contacts out, "It is no issue, Gavin. You are my partner, after all.... Are you going to be able to see without those?"
