She glanced him over before moving closer, hugging him gently. She glanced down. "...How did you survive? You...You were impaled by debris. You were dead when we found you." She whispered quietly.

he blinked. “reanimation. took a while and a lot of pain, but it worked. mostly. i’ve got a few extra eyes and some sharp ass teeth, but..”

She sighed, shaking her head. "Looks don't matter Gabe. It's on the inside that counts." She murmured softly.

Tracer froze a bit. She glanced up at him, her eyes wide with slight concern.

She relaxed after a moment and laughed softly. "Don't do that to me Gabe." She whispered. After a minute, she slowly pulled away. She glanced him over before looking down. Her smile fell after a moment. "I'm so sorry Gabe." She whispered quietly.

She kept her gaze down. "I could have saved Jack." She whispered quietly. "but I...I didn't." She whispered, her voice shaking. She just looked scared. "I was....I was on the ship. I snuck on when Jack went out to look for the Black Mark base. He found it. But he...He got attacked. And I..." She trailed off, shaking as she tried to compose herself. "I just watched from inside the ship. I wanted to run out and help him. But I couldn't. I froze. I just watched him get beat up. I was....I was scared. So I flew the ship back to the base. Jack spotted him as I was taking off. And that...That look...That look he gave me when when I left. He looked so betrayed. I failed him. I couldn't save him. And I can't let my comrades atack their base. There's too many enemies. I can't lead them to their deaths like I did with Jack." She whispered.

Tears had filled her eyes and had spilled down her cheeks by now. She was trembling and she raised a hand to cover her mouth. She closed her eyes tightly. "I can't do this Gabe..." She whispered, her voice breaking.

he shook his head and pulled her into a hug. “it’s ok.. don’t cry..” he said softly. “people make mistakes, and they learn from them. you learned that the direct approach doesn’t work, so you take a different approach. stealth or extreme, both of which my people are experts in.” he said softly.
